Headlight on headlight off

I have a Honda 2005 1800 trike. On high beam left light is on, right light is off. Replaced bulb and still have the same problem. Right side high beam wire does not have 12 volt. I need help! Any suggestions??

I would check the hi beam headlight relay. I am not sure if the Hi beam and Lo beam relays are the same but I think you should be able to tell by looking at them. I would try swapping the Hi beam Relay with a like relay to see if the problem is the relay. The Lo beam relay is relay 1 and the high beam relay is relay 16. The headlight fuse is fuse 24. Hope this helps.

That's interesting...... I just looked at the wiring diagram in my '06 service manual. The left high beam is powered directly from the hi/low switch and the right is powered through the Headlight hi relay. I expect the '05 is done the same. I'm not sure I follow the reasoning for that but I seems to work......

Like Woolie says.. could be the relay or a fuse.

Thanks to both of you for the the information. The fuse is ok but gonna try the relay this afternoon. I hope the relay is easy to get to. I will let you know what happens. Thanks again!!

Just guessing but I expect the wire scheme is for this reason. The problem of both headlights going out at one time would be BAD. Thus using different wiring schemes would hopefully avoid the loss of both headlights if such a problem arises. Just thinking out loud.
