Was it ever determined or announced who rode the fartherest (note that I said RODE), to attend our Rally in the Valley V? I missed such an announcement, IF it was given at our banquet cookout or any other time during our rally get-togethers.

A determination and announcement was made during the "meet-n-greet" under the tent on Friday evening. I believe "Berngren" from Saginaw, TX claimed the prize, if I'm not mistaken.

Actually I should qualify that --- he held the record from the group that was there at the time, so it is possible another rally attendee might have had more miles under the wheels, but were not at the Friday social. While it is true that quite a few of the rally attendees did not come to this gathering, several of our Texas members rode very similar number of miles and came the longest distance in that crowd. Bernie and his grandson were certainly deserving of that designation that night. :D

Had I known before hand that the announcement would be made at the "meet-n-greet" and not at the cookout, I may have been in attendance, as I may have given the Texas Groups a run for their title. I rode 1261 miles and this was my first TT Rally in the Valley. This is no big deal to me... Just wondering if I may have been the one, that's all.

We had more than one with mileage over 1,000! I don't recall Bernie's exact mileage, but I think you'd have been very close. That's a great trip you made!

When a rider signs in at the rally the actual mileage from home to rally (Google or MapQuest..not odometer) should be recorded. Separate mileage for "touring miles" from home/rally recorded from rider's odometer. Awards can be given out at a designated day/time prior to end of rally. Only those folks RIDING motorcycles are eligible.

Hi All,
No big deal to me either, but it would have been nice if the riders that went on the ride could have made the whole event.
By the way I rode from Las Vegas Nevada, with a lot of side miles also. I think this may have been close to the furthest also.
At any rate it was a great time.

Ride Safe all. Terry (Las Vegas Biker)

That sounds like a better method for determining who rode the fartherest than a verbal declaration, IF indeed that was how it was determined, (this time). Do I hear a second or an AMEN? :Agree: ThumbUp

Gee guys it's a reunion not a contest. The door prizes are just a fun thing. We don't even keep track of who gets them. I'm sure there were older and younger members at the rally but not at the dinner. Those were prizes also.
