Hi, I`m getting my first trike next week :D. It`s a 800 Suzuki with a Lehman conversion, I`ve rode 2 wheelers but think I will enjoy the trike alot.

I second that!!! You'll get straight answers and lots of help if needed. After chatting with your SO the other day I bet you'll really get a kick out of that 800.... Don't' be a stranger....

Hey guys, I appreciate all the welcomes. I'm sure that after I get my trike and start riding, I'll have loads of questions. My husband has a 2 wheeler and we are planning on heading to Big Bend Thanksgiving. Hope I'll be ready for a ride of that length and for the CURVES we'll encounter.

Welcome from the Houston area Tammy. This is the right place to get good answers to your questions. This is by far one of, if not the best forum I have found in 15 years. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Except for americanbadass. Watch out for him. :D Just kiddin' aba.

As a new triker with only 2100 miles on his scooter I'll say the best thing for you to do as soon as you get it is take it to a large empty parking lot and start getting used to the way you have to turn it. And get comfortable on it. I had not ridden anything in 40 years and it took me about 1000 plus miles to start getting kind of comfortable. Now I no longer have a death grip on the handlebars and ride it like I stole it. Making a 3 day run to the hill country next week end and riding up to Denton the first week of October to visit family.

I've sure enjoyed reading all the advice on here for new trikers like myself. My husband is picking up my trike Thursday :D so I'm sure this weekend will be a "learning" one for me. I like the suggestion of locating a large parking lot to practice on, sounds like words of wisdom to me. We only live about an 1 1/2 from Fredricksburg, so I'm sure will head to the hill country as soon as possible. I'm super excitied and can't wait to get riding again :GL1800:

Congrats, scubatam! You will love riding the trike once you get the feel of it. But watch out for bugs in your teeth......your grin will be so big :D

Hey Tammy,

Where is there a HUGE parking lot around Voss? One of the nice things about living in the country -- not a lot of traffic so you'll get some good practice in. Those sweepers on FM 1929 will give you lots of cornering experience. We came through there this afternoon. Didn't have time to stop. I promise I will soon though.

Hey Goldrush,
I was talking about the parking lot at Panther Creek ISD. OK, you got me....pehaps I should have stated it was a "large" lot not a "huge" one. :busted:
But it is the largest around here so figure that's where I'll head. Next time you're through our neck in of woods, stop by for a visit. My better half is almost always at the store and I'm there pretty often on the weekends. We'll look forward to meeting ya .......

Ok I thought I`d put up pics of scubatams new to her trike. 03 Lehman Gypsy.

OK went on my first solo ride yesterday after I got off work. I made a 45 mile ride thru SW Coleman/ NE Concho counties. I LIKE my trike and feel fairly comfortable on it out in the country but I'm not ready to head to town just yet. I'm thrilled with how solid the bike feels and was able to handle the curves well thanks to all the tips I read on here. :) I think I'll be able to enjoy this three-wheel riding!!!! Only problem is I kinda feel like the handlebars are a bit low and wide so gotta get the husband to do a few adjustments. Hey, hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Thanks for the picture. Now I know what (who) to watch out for!!! pepper
Just kidding you know that Tammy.... That looks like it will fit the bill very nicely. Now I really do have to come see you.... Glad you are taking to the trike so well. Lots of folks really struggle at first.

Welcome. I'm up in Allen, just north of Dallas; I think you will have a blast. I haven't met any one yet who regreted adding a third wheel.

Welcome Texan, from North Mississippi and hope you enjoy your converted Boulevard 800
Love the state of Texas, if it were not for children and grandchildren, would retire to Texas, because I like it there. Also, my wife is from Texas.
Enjoy your ride and ride safe.

Don’t need no parking lot ….! Ride out in the cow pasture and dodge the cows and mesquite bushes and you will get good at the handling!

The Abilene HOG group ride through Voss on Saturday afternoon. We rode to the little store on Lake Ivie and ate.

Have fun and be safe. See y’all on the road sometime.
