New Build Hydraulic Clutch/Brake Clutch Pedal Fabrication

For the hydraulic clutch set up, I looked at using the "specialty" type long hydraulic cylinder available from sand rail parts suppliers. When I added up the brackets, slave and master cylinder, and flex hose installation prices, it was almost $280.00. After some research, I ended up using the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder from a 1977 Toyota pick up truck. The slave cylider travel adjustment rod is already threaded and has half-moon and jam nuts which fit the clutch arm perfectly with plenty of travel. I used a rear brake hose for the same vehicle for the flexible connection point. Total investment was $49.75 from Advanced Auto Parts. I made the mounting bracket from 2 pieces of 1 inch wide X 3/8" inch flat bar welded perpendicular to each other. Drilled 2 holes 5/16" diameter to mount the slave cylinder to one side of the bracket and drilled a 3/8" hole to install the whole set up with a bell housing bolt. <br />

I have also attached a brake & clutch pedal fabrication drawing which I used for my trike. They work great.

Hope this helps another "trike jockey"!

I forgot to note that the clutch slave cylinder pushes the clutch arm because it's mounted on the engine side of the bell housing.
