This Thursday my wife Deb, Toby (our 3 year old Morkie) and I are trailering our 95 Aspencade, 850 miles north to Chicago from East Texas. We bought a 2010 Tow Pac Insta Trike as the private seller is installing for us on Saturday. The half mile rural dirt road to our cabin in the woods is so treacherous and I've dropped the bike so many times in the loose sand and gravel that I finally said, "Nuff". We'll give this a go and see how it works.

Best of luck Dan, be sure to give a report on it.

Hi Jack. Curious how this is going to work too? Spent a lot of money on my road repair this year but was only the tip of the iceberg for my half mile long road. A trike conversion is a lot cheaper than the 50k it would take to pave it.

Should help out a lot. Just keep an eye on the brackets and bolts. All that banging tends to loosen bend an break stuff.

Let me know how it goes for you. I too added a TOW PAC 4 months ago, due to back problems. So far my bike/Trike is doing great. Turns ok, and back fenders bounce on bad roads, other than that, I can ride now, since I don't have to stand or lean. It is a bit wider, but I added 11 inch hard saddlebags and Wrap-A-Round Jumbo cargo box. What a difference it made, in the looks. I tried to post a photo of it, but said i have no room, and I have NO photo's in my Album.....Would love to see a photo of yours, and keep us posted how the kit works for you. LOU

Hi Lou. What kind of bike do you have? Really looking forward to riding down my road thru deep sand without fear of dropping it. How long did it take to get comfortable with the steering? I'll have to figure out how to do pictures here too. Planning a 6000 mile trip to Nova Scotia in September with the new Tow Pac.

You should be able to do a picture. Make sure you do not take the picture in the 4Meg or larger format. If your camera has a choice go down to 2M.. After getting it into your computer. Open a new page on here . After typing a message, go to the bottom and select manage attachments. Click on it , find the picture file, click on it , then up load.

Hi DanB
When you are up my way , drop in and say hello. I have a Danson kit and a trinity trike kit on my Burgman 650.

Hi Wayne and thanks for the invite. Pretty much in early planning stages right now. My riding partner is moving this summer from Dallas to Seattle so it changes our route planning. Originally we were riding up from Texas together and now may meet-up at the Great Lakes and ride into upper state New York enroute to NS. He owns a house on Cape Breton Island as we'll most likely ride the Cabot Trail. I would like to research this area to discover all that it has to offer. BTW, are you a member of the Burgman Forum? If you are I think I remember seeing your posts as I was a previous member when I owned a 650 and 400. Thanks for the tip and we'll keep in touch regarding our tour of NS.

It may take some time getting used to it. Unlike a true trike, a Tow Pac allows you to lean. Depending on your road, that may be good or bad.

Hi Dan, I have an '03 Yamaha 1100 VStar Custom. I live in Houston, so havent been thru much dirt, but a friend on another forum did and she has a 650 like mine and tow-pac. She had no problems. The first time you turn, will feel weird, you dont have to lean and remember, you have 2 extra wheels back there! Lol. I rode thru my neighborhood to get use to the feeling of not being on 2 wheels again. Make sure you keep your front wheel in the middle of your lane and swing out a little turning right...yep...I forgot and went up over the curb, THAT didnt happen again! and you get to hog a whole parking place! I actually have had compliments on it. Its all black. My bike was already black, kit was black. Took me a few times at the light too, to remember, dont have to put feet down.

Hi Again Dan, I was able to go to the Gallery and post 3 photos, my bike before triking, then side and back veiw after triking after I added bags and cargo box, let me know what you think, after reading my story!
Thanks, Lou-Lou

Hey Lou-Lou, your bike with Tow Pac and saddlebags and trunk looks fantastic. A very nice job and one to be proud of. If you ever get up in East Texas give me a shout. Again, super job Lou. I'm in Memphis tonight enroute to Chicago to get my Tow Pac installed on Saturday. Had a great rain free ride so far. Plan to arrive near Chicago tomorrow afternoon. Taking pictures and will post when I get back with before and after pics.

LouLou, that rig looks fantastic! I'm curious where you found the fiberglass "box" that gives it such a finished look --- I am quite sure others here would be interested to know also.

Just be very careful with tow PAC. I had an 06 sportster with one of the tow PAC and in may of 07 a bolt broke and threw the wife and I into a guardrail and we got hurt real bad I consider the tow pads to be dangerous ibelieve the voyagers to be safer. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. Good
Luck and ride safe

For those with a TP kit, how often do you end up having to tighten the bolts?
Are you also using loc-tite in addition to tightening bolts? Interested in the outrigger style due to cost.

Hdsteal, we'll be installing my Tow Pac tomorrow morning and will be using red locktite on all bolts. And Tutboman, I was sorry to hear of your past accident and injuries. Your comments are duly noted as I'll keep a close eye on the bolts. Had you used locktite on your bolts and what color locktite if you did use it?
