Intro from another future trike owner

Greetings,
I am not currently an owner and while I've gave passing thought to having my '78 Harley Lowrider converted into a Champion trike, I'm really leaning more towards having a rear engined trike. I hope to learn on how some of you others have built your own rides and do something similar. Since I'm currently building a hot rod/show truck, my trike may take a year or two to make it onto the asphalt!

Wow, I hadn't thought of anything that extreme! I'm not sure how you'd keep the front end down. Right now, I have a 2.3 L Ford 4 cylinder motor and auto transmission out of a '84 Tempo that was free. Stock hp is 84 and that is with the single barrel carb. I figure I could do a little motor work and go to a Weber downdraft carb, cam and a free flowing exhaust and it should be a handful, mounted motor before axle. Mid-engined I guess you'd say. But a V8, wow! How about a 455 Olds Toronado and it's Hydramatic transaxle! It'd take a heck of a frame and front end, but wouldn't that be something! I'm betting it's already been done before though. It could be scary, very scary!

Gettin out of bed in the morning is scary...so don't let that hold you back! I know a guy that has a Boss Hoss with a 455 in it, the weight of the motor and rider seem to hold it down. I imagine if he drag raced it, the back end would be squirrley as hell.

Let the game begin! I just picked up the front end of a '86 Honda GL1200 Goldwing Aspencade; forks, steering neck, fairing and title that I'm going to build off of.
Maybe by this time next year I'll be triking like there's no tomorrow!
