Who has a pull behind camper and what do you like about it?

I may be in the market for a camper, if the dealer here at home never see's the hitch, ya'll know, void the warranty and all....Wanted to know what brand of camper you have and why do you like it? Questions, how does it pull, how much storage, is it comfortable being completely off the ground or the ones with the lid on the ground for a floor? Do you like the camper that has the bed out from the axle with only two aluminum thingies holding it up, is it stable for sleeping? Or are the ones more stable with the bed part over the axle. I'm going to assume that those are smaller? Which one is more user friendly, the ones with the frame work on the outside or inside. Don't they need rain fly's, do you stay dry inside?

Re: Who has a pull behind camper and what do you like about it?

We have a Less-ure Lite camper that we have used for 8 or 9 years. I usually pull it with my FJR1300 instead of my trike ('cause the SO likes riding the FJR more than the trike). You can get details at Lightweight Pop-Up Tent Trailors | Pop Up Tent Trailers | Small Car Tent Trailors.
We have been thru tent camping, a home built camper, an now the LessureLite. I can truthfully say that the current camper is the best yet. Quick set up, a good size bed, and the room to stand up and put on your clothes. Storage is about 14 cubic feet. Towing is not a problem as long as you keep in mind that you have about 50% more weight to start/stop.

I have a Bunkhouse SE about a 2002 model. Lots of storage, easy set up, pulls nice and very comfortable with the king size bed and the dressing room. Bushtec now owns Bunkhouse, from Franklin, TN... check them out.

What the cost of one of these trailers ? One with mattress & storage box.

BOUGHT MY 2003 ASPEN CLASSIC IN 2008 FOR $2300. THEY R $4000 NEW. TRAILMASTER HAS GREAT FOLKS TO DEAL WITH. I CAMP 8 TO 10 EACH YEAR. LOVE THE STORAGE CAPACITY & EASY SET-UP. HAD A KOMPACT KAMP FOR 3 YEARS BEFORE. I STILL TENT CAMP ON LONGER RUNS. ThumbUp

Re: Who has a pull behind camper and what do you like about it?

Skeet, we have a bunkhouse and have had it for 3 years. We absolutely love it. I believe that any camper that you get, you will be happy with it.

We like pulling a camper because we like staying in the same bed each night. I really don't notice any difference pulling it or not pulling it. You will need extra time at the campground after your camper is set up, to talk to people who will come by and want to see your camper. They will say stuff like, "I can't believe all of that camper came out of that little trailer". You will notice a change in gas mileage also, but that is a trade off.

Re: Who has a pull behind camper and what do you like about it?

Bought my Timeout in 2007. We use it a lot during the spring and fall. We usually camp at our CMA rallys and find that the Timeout is just the thing. I looked at a lot of different trailers before I purchased one. The one thing that sets Timeout apart is that everything is about 12" off the ground. You don't have to worry about water seeping in through the floor like some campers that have part of the canvas on the ground. Also you don't have to worry with mud and/or dirt on the tent part when you pack up like ones that have part of the tent on the ground. The best thing you can do is try to look at a few different trailers and then make your best deal and enjoy it. Camping is not for everyone but if you want to enjoy the camping experience there is no better way than to pull one behind a trike. MHO.

Have owned and used Lees-ure Lite, Aspen and a teardrop. Liked the teardrop the best but pulled it with a V8 trike. Looking for another Lees-ure Lite.

We have a "Little Guy" Joey, that we pull with my wife's Victory Pitboss or my Honda VTX 1800 Champion.

Weighs a little under #500, and tongue weight of 40 lbs. Pulls great! can't run 75 mph though...60-65 is comfortable. Fuel milage....Yeeshh, lucky to get 21mpg, fighting wind, 19mpg (Bring a reserve gas can along)

I am looking at a Bunkhouse. I like the roominess, the storage and the ease of setup. They also dont weigh as all that much for as much room they have.

I have a "A" frame 2009 Aliner Alite that I pull behind my Stallion. Trails really great, don't even know it's back there. Curb weight less than 500 lbs. Great little camper, sets up in less than a minute. No canvass to mess with, rot, mildew or tear. Thinking about selling it, as I don't camp much anymore.

I don't own one yet, but so for this is my pick when I do purchase.
I have seen one and it does setup that quick. Lots of room for a small tent camper. I like it a lot!!!!

Re: Who has a pull behind camper and what do you like about it?

Sold my Combi Camp over the winter and purchased a Leesure Lite. Still waiting on delivery of the Leesure Lite. If the weather breaks soon, might just ride to TX to pick it up.securedownload.jpeg20150125_134308.jpg
