Seeking feedback from anyone!!!:
Has anyone tried the new S&S 557 easy start chain drive cams made for Tri Glides?
Im considering them as they appear to be what im looking for..
Lower end torque, less heat , good milage and mid range power...
I have a 2009 Triglide with Joker Machine stainless steel mufflers, and a HD S/E air cleaner kit...I also have an uninstalled TTS Master tune 11..
Msoko, what ya think of my Possible setup?
Thx in advance..HaNkB

no but i went with the S&S 510 gear cam to eliminate the cam shoes.in my '09 t/g. at 11k, my shoes showed considerable wear. the 510 is the largest cam before you must have head work, according to S&S. its really great, some noise, but being gear cam they can't go anywhere. check with your local shop & see what they have installed.

They look like a good cam for the application, torque should come in plenty early. Another cam to look at is the SE254, Wiz just installed a set in his 2012 Triglide and likes them so far.

I missed that from Wiz. Why does he like the 254 instead of the 255s? I've been thinking about cams. Had the 255s in my 08 103 and were a bear on the starting system.

S&S States :
Bolt-in – no headwork
• Start any engine with a stock starter
• Save your starter and battery!
• Reliable – tested for 100,000 accumulative starts and over 150,000
road miles without breakage or compression release failure!
• Automatic – no buttons to push
Im gonna call them..Thx for the views so far guys..HaNkb

Ok, Call me stupid but...
I got a set of these cams coming, with quikkee pushrod kit..Once I install these, No problem ta do, is there in my TTS a download kinda like just putting in a stage 1 in?
I will have the cams, /SE a/c and Joker free flow mufflers...Im not sure how ta do all the other shet with the TTS and havent hooked it to the bike as of yet..I watche the video from Kuryakyn and what they do looks pretty easy, but it doesnt state the program or whatever they dumped in, or do I have to create one to match my stuff?
Thx in advance..HanKb

To Delta.. haven't finished the 254E cam TTS tune yet, weather is getting better so this should be complete in the next week or two. I'll chime in later..

Hank... First. What do you mean by this? I also have an uninstalled TTS Master tune

Next, not sure if you realize but you don't need adjustable push rods to install a set of cams on your TG.

We can discuss the TTS stuff when you let me know about the TTS you have.

Thx for getting back to me Wiz..
What I mean about my TTS is that its new in the box..I did the downloads, updates etc to my PC, but i havent hooked to the trike yet...I got the quikkee pushrods coming as well just for ease of cam installation...The engine only has 8000 miles, so, why tear the rocker boxes ,gas tank etc etc off just to save a couple of $$
i have all the cam tools etc, so thats not an issue and I have done a few twin cam cam changes alreay on other bikes...
The part that spooks me is the tuning part...I no my way around my PC to get to porn sites,LOL..ebay and emails etc, but kinda get intimidated with too many choices/questions...
I will seek out your expertise advise once im into it...Gene from Kuryakyn sent me a map MT7, that he figures would be a close match????
Thx in advance..HanKb..

It just doesn't take as long to remove the tank and rocker boxes as it does to install adjustable, then you toss in the added problem if they are adjusted properly or if a shoulder nut becomes loose while on the road and you break down. Up to you though.

The MT7 file doesn't have the additional controls you need when changing cams on a BTwin. MT7 is obsolete. Since you have an 09, having a 044 calibration and Cam Selector will help a lot.

Thx Wiz..Good point on the pushrods...Hmm..The TTS i have is blue..TTS II I beleive..
Once I get into this, I would appreciate your help ..Wont be for awhile yet, as I dont heat shop till its warmer around here...Its geting there, but we got about 3ft of snow sitting everywhere chilling us out..I just ordered the cams and pushrods this mornin, so they will take a few weeks to get up here....Thx again...Hb

The blue TTS is the newest unit they sell..And tuning is easy..Read the manuals that come with the disc..It does help..

Got the S&S 557 cams now..Kinda a different program with the compression release lever in em..They look like true S&S quality tho...
Im getting excited with the soon to install idea..We still have about 3 ft of snow tho, so, I guess I might as well not get to horny yet..LOl..HanKb

You'll have to let us know what you think once you get them installed and the trike tuned.

I have the S&S 557's in my triglide it was the best thing I did. Now have lots of power and little heat. Mine was melting wires from all the heat and the cams and S&S pipes cooled it off. Many thanks to Harley for making such a pos that you have to spend all that money just to make it safe to ride.

Thx..This is good ta hear..Can I ask you what tuner you used and if TTS, was there a suitable map, or did you have to just pick kinda close and fine tune from there??
I have a/c and pipes and NO cat..Hb
