I had to go over to the Eastern Shore today. This was my first time over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. I went right at sunrise to get some good photos. But, man, what a great ride across it. It definitely won't be my last one!!!!!
Every time were down that way we make it a point to go that route, its great.

Good job! Lots of fun on that ride, wait till the wind kicks up! Keep taking those good pictures and posting them.

Nice calm ride going over but had some pretty healthy gusts coming back across. Made the ride home "interesting"........
Thanks, Harry. Nice report and photos. You reminded me of the 1st time I ever used the bridge-tunnel, many years ago. I didn't know much about the crossing and it was a very dark, slightly foggy night. We could see little of the surrounding area and just payed attention to the road ahead. That was a Fri night. We returned on Sunday afternoon on a beautiful, sunshiny day. All I could say was WOW (actually, it was more like "Holy Sh*t") - we had no idea what we had "missed" Friday night.

Another great crossing for anyone who has the opportunity, is the Confederation Bridge spanning the Northumberland Straight between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, Canada - an 8 mile long engineering marvel.

I'll have to remember that one if I ever get back up around that area.

Same here in the early 60's. I believe that's when it first opened.

Nice pics. I always love crossing those bridge/tunnels. And can finally use my toll pass now also.
First time I crossed it in early '90's, on way to Daytona bike week. Didn't know how to get to 95 south from end. Nobody could give me directions. Asked a cop, taxi, etc. Finally just headed west. Figured I would hit it eventually.

They can certainly be interesting. We got stuck at one for three hours due to an accident one year. What a pain in the butt that was.
