Rear Disc Brakes

Okay who is the disc brake master here? The Redneck Chariot has a disc brake kit on the rear, i think the person that owned it before got the economy kit from pacific customs. Any who, they are the calipers that bolt to the bracket and do not float side to side on the mounting bolts like other disc brakes do on a manufactured car. I had to add a washer under the calipers on each mounting bolt to center the disc in the caliper, my issue is that when i am rolling slow i can hear a rubbing from the rear brakes, not a grinding sound, if i barely press on the brake pedal the sound goes away, i am thinking it is just the disc rubbing on the pads since these calipers do not float they are solid mount. i do not have a residual valve anywhere in the system, brakes feel firm when the pedal is depressed, i centered the disc in the caliper because when i first got the trike and stepped on the brakes firmly the disc would rub on the caliper housing really bad.
any info would be helpful, or maybe i am just worried about nothing.
thanks

Not a disc brake master, but I hope this helps...

Are the pads new? Sometimes they have to wear in a bit. The noise may diminish after a few rides. Also, because we're riding in the open, we tend to hear things that we normally wouldn't from inside an enclosed car. Could be the noise is normal. I also have a disc brake kit on my trike, but because the exhaust is "bit" loud :)D), I've never noticed this noise on the road. But, if I'm pushing the trike, to move it around the shop per say, I notice a noise similar to that which you've described. Just a couple ideas. I'm sure those who know more can shed a little more light on the subject.
