I was wondering what sites y'all would suggest for looking at used trikes for sale. Of course, I know about Craigslist & Cycle Trader, but thought y'all would have new ideas about this.

Also, someone suggested to me that, when looking for a used trike, stick to something only 10-12 yrs old, since anything older would be hard to find parts for. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks for help.

One of the people on here Recently bought a trike from my neck of the woods. If you would like to take a road trip to try shops in Arizona they're both awesome. The Trike Shop up in Prescott Arizona and Southwest trikes in Phoenix. Both have websites google them.

You can't rule out Ebay, but be careful of scams. Stay away from the deals that sound too good to be true... 'Course, that's true no matter where you shop.

I found this place the other day www.Yakaz.com . After you get on their site, select a state then use the search bar at the top. search for motorcycles or trikes or whatever. Probably have to be careful there just like anywhere else but looks like a place to gather information.

Thanks everybody, for the suggestions. All help is appreciated. The other question I had was buying a bike over 10-12 yrs old. I was told that it is hard to find parts for anything older than that. Is that true?

If you are looking, don't buy anything less then a 2007 1800. A lot of people will tell you the same thing.
This is what this board is all about. Very good info about trikes. Good luck. Ride safe,

I bought a 1999 Honda Valkyrie interstate a few weeks ago, bought a Roadsmith kit for it last Friday.
It is replacing a 2007 Yamaha road star 1700 with a champion kit there was installed 1.5 years ago.
Will be for sale in the spring.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Craigslist.

When I had to make the switch from 2 to 3 wheels, I found my first one at a good price about 20 miles from home. The trike I'm riding now was listed on Ebay and I'm really pleased with it.

Overall, I probably can't help too much except to remind you of the "For Sale" sub-forum right here on TT. ( For Sale & WTB Classifieds - Trike Talk Forum)

I +1 87Trike1200's suggestion, the TT For Sale section is where I found and bought my TG.
Also, I can't help but wonder why you posted about buying a Trike on the Trailers-Campers-Toyhaulers Forum, no problem just wondered?

P/S, I wouldn't buy anything more than 5yrs old, sometimes non-use rot is worse than high mileage and of course parts are always a problem.

After 12 years old you get into the 1500 gold wing and then all parts fit for the next 12 years (88 -99 ) same parts. From 2001 to present are all the same. I know people riding 1988 wings. There are a lot of after market suppliers out there.
