we are already decided on a go pro type camera and a GPS for traveling your great country,
we would like to hear what other accy items you have and love when your doing long haul touring. the ones you wouldnt set of without.

Probably the most important one is the one you mentioned, the GPS. Not to mention a good rain suit, a decent camera and a TREMENDOUS appetite!! There is a superb variety of foods here in the USA! Take your time, enjoy the beautiful scenery and welcome to our wonderful country!!

P.S. By chance are you coming for the 110th Anniversary for Harley?

Make sure you have some basic tools and tire plugs for on the road mishaps. I carry a small electric air pump, also.
For comfort on long days, you might look into Beadrider seat pads, they can really ease the ol' butt cramps.
I also always carry a smartphone and netbook to look up hotels, restaurants and other amenities on the road. McDonald's and many other fast food places have free WiFi.

I have a windshield bag from Harley. Has 3 compartments with magnetic closure. Best thing I have bought for loose change, tickets at the toll booths, chap stick, etc.

we will be in Milwaukee but not for the 110 celebrations. Sturgis was the original plan and it just grew from there. we did post a reasonable itinerary some time ago and i cant remember where. in a nutshell new orleans, alabama, georgia, north carolina, tennessee, Arkansas,Missouri illinois, wisconsin nebraska, iowa, south dakota Montana, wyoming, idaho, utah, arizona, nevada,california.. some good ideas there so far, thats the good thing about this sort of forum. its an excellent resource. thanks for the great tips.
trailer is being built. we will need it for Elises shopping lol

Sounds like you may want to bring lots of cash also.

Anything which allows you and your passenger to change positions is welcome on a long ride, so his-and-her hiway pegs were a priority for us. A bottle holder for liquid refreshment is also a good idea.

we are paying between $5.30 and $6 a US gallon here, so your pricing will be a big plus for us. i just posted elsewhere on the site that a tri glide is $52,788 here. the only thing going cheap in Australia is baby chickens

We build and ship horse carriages and motorcycle hearses to Austrailia---the shipping costs really hammer the final costs

I really like the Cyclepac
luggage and backrest combo on my trike especially for those long tours.

If you have not bought a Go-Pro yet, I would look at Swann - Advanced Security Made Easy - Freestyle HD Wearable Action Video Camera with LCD Viewer
I am very pleased with mine, it came with alot more accessories at the faction of the price. I bought mine off of Amazon for $128.00 Amazon.com: Swann - Camera & Photo Brands: Camera & Photo
if gets lost/stolen then I do not have $300 Plus invested. Hope this helps.
John
