Just bought a Bushtec Roadstar pepper,it's a 97 year and looks great! Has a cooler and cover, a front bra ,tires look good, has 21 cf of storage. After ordering the hitch coupler, wiring harness, and a hitch for another bike that is in the family, another hitch pin. Just hope we will be able to use it alot! May have to start camping again, but that's ok too. Does anyone have a spare tire and where would it be stored if any place ? Also has anyone had any problems thit this brand? Thanks for any replies !

Here's my "Piggy", with its small wheels. The spare suspends from the frame with a couple of U-bolts. I realize that your trailer is "fancier" and your wheels are probably bigger and may not fit like this. Also, look into something similar hanging underneath or vertically on the front tow bar - just trying to give you some ideas.

I have a '94 (bought new) have only pulled it with my 2 wheeler, never have
had any problems, consider Bushtec to be the best! Since I have over 200 thou.
on that bike I would say there is probably over 100 thou. on my Bushtec Turbo
Two
. Still have to put a hitch on the Trike.

Sorry, forgot to mention - I've always carried my spare on the bottom (inside) but have NEVER used it! Also a small scissor jack/lug wrench and plenty of spare ammo.:D

My Bushtech is an 07 and my spare is on the inside as well. I thought about mounting it under the trailer, but with so much room on the inside, I have not seen the need to mount the tire on the outside. I enjoy this trailer a lot, it does not bounce or wobble, it is easy to for get it is even behind you!

Have a 06 Bushtec Turbo 2 spare tire is stored inside the trailer.

Just bought the Roadstar from Bushtec at dealer celebration this weekend. Trailers behind trike like a dream!

Harley rep was in service dept., when I went in to shoot the breeze with service writer.
The Harley rep made a smart arse comment," what you having put on your trike, so that I can void your warranty?" He didn't crack a smile, or even snickered!
My response, gotta go arse!

Bought a new BushTec Roadstar in 2009. Pulled it behind my 2 wheeled Harley. Just mounted a hitch on my TG and towed it to Sturgis.

BushTec's are the Ferrari of motorcycle trailers. Customer support and service was far better when John and Andy Preston owned it but the mega-conglomerate industry that bought out the Preston's is trying. Most of their support staff doesn't even know what a motorcycle trailer is. They have hired a couple fellows that have motorcycle knowledge and are getting the company headed in the right direction.

Had a lengthily discussion with the BushTec rep about this warranty issue and trailers. Have also had the same conversation with my local dealership. At home there wouldn't be an issue but traveling as much as I do I could have an issue on the road from an over zealous service writer/service manager.

I have to ask couldn't they try to void my warranty for my exhaust system, V&H Fuel Pac, Throttle Pac, S&S cam, Bad Ass brake lights. How about the Amsoil i use. Was told by an attorney friend that MotorCo would have a lot of issues if they tried. He said that even though HD doesn't have trailer hitches and/or trailers in their product line their dealerships have catalogs from vendors with hitches and accessories on their parts counters.

Sorry didn't mean to derail the thread.

I'm probly wrong but I think they have to prove whatever voided the warranty really caused the problem. I think it was the Magnuson- Morrison act that federal government passed back in the 50's or 60's. I had an account that we where selling all the filters for there plant, and they went to I think Mack trucks . Mack told them they would void any warranty if they didn't use Mack filters. I told our filter supplier this at a meeting and he got back to me a few days later and showed me this federal law ,so I in turn took this to the company's president and we had a long talk with his legal department and I started supplying the filters again. This was about 60 to 70 k a year sale ,so it really helped out there savings and I started sell other items they saw that we sold. And yes they became my #1 customer for several more years. I would think this might apply to your question ,but I'd ask someone in a legal department for some advice. As my incident was in the late 70's or early 80's . Good luck !

Jeb, are you going to haul farm animals or going to break down and git yourself one of those "spotted" dogs!
Seriously though, I have a Bushtec that I bought new back in '95 and it
IS A GOOD UNIT. they are a good company to deal with, started out here
in sunny California,

I'd be interested in something like this: 2013 Bushtec Tow-Tow Basic | Bushtec Performance Sport Trailers | Jacksboro Tennessee
Of course I'd have to mortgage the farm.

I have a big, big, BIG problem with this set up. Had seriously looked at a set up like this even before Bushtec came out with it. Considered buying an extra lid and cutting a hole to haul my best buddy Scooter ( 145# Rottweiiler ) around with me. THEN I read that a dogs hearing is much more acute than a humans. If your exhaust is loud to you what would it be like for your buddy ?

I even think it would be an issue with stock pipes. Just say'n.

Well the bush tec road star will have a new home soon! We pulled it to the Smokies last week and on the way back stopped at Jacksboro, Tn. at factory. Scott and Keith ( ThumbUp )made us a great deal on a new bunkhouse lx camping trailer . They told me they should have it built and ready to pick up on the 11th of Oct. as they have bedding on order and a few other things coming in. If it pulls as great as the road star, we won't be disappointed at all. Oh by the way if your ever down in the area stop in and look around and talk to anyone as they all helpful and will get you the answers that your looking for. Be sure to ask about any specials they may be having ( so bring $$$) I'm sure you'll get a good deal :10: Great people to deal with! pepper
