Roadsmith Trikes and Sturgis Buffalo Chip® Join Forces for First Ever Sturgis Trike Ride

White Bear Lake, MN (June 27, 2013) – Industry icon, Roadsmith Trikes, has teamed up with the legendary Buffalo Chip for the first annual Trike Owners United Ride (T.O.U.R.) set to take place on Wednesday, August 7th at 3:30 PM during the Sturgis rally. The T.O.U.R. all-trike ride will begin in historic Hill City, SD for the start of a scenic 50 mile ride that will culminate with a trike procession through the Buffalo Chip to a special reception at the Russ Brown Events Center. Free of charge, the T.O.U.R. is open to all makes and models of trikes. Riders can pre-register for the event here.

"For over four decades Roadsmith Trikes has built a reputation for designing and producing some of the best trikes in the business, so it is fitting that we sponsor a trike event with the Sturgis Buffalo Chip to provide a world-class setting and atmosphere for all of those who attend." said Roadsmith General Manager, Doug Lindholm. The T.O.U.R. event is a brand new endeavor for the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, giving all trike riders a one-of-a-kind experience at the Sturgis rally. All participants have the opportunity to partake in the group ride on some of the area’s most spectacular roads, enjoy a catered dinner with live entertainment and door prizes, be part of the group photo and have full access to the world-famous Motorcycles as Art exhibition at the Russ Brown Events Center. Registration may be available on the day of the event, however, pre -registration is encouraged due to a limited number of available accommodations.

"We are looking forward to working with Roadsmith on what is sure to be an annual tradition for trike owners," says Rod Woodruff, President of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. "On this day, trike riders from around the world will come together to celebrate the freedom and camaraderie shared on three wheels." "We could not be more excited to host the Trike Owners United Ride and welcome "trikers" home to the Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling."

Re: Sturgis All Trike Event!

I was talking to Kirk Rush of Roadsmith Trikes yesterday and this will be a MUST DO event if you're at Sturgis this year. They will host a fantastic ride, a party at the Buffalo Chip which includes a free catered meal, entertainment, trike trivia, etc. ALL makes, ALL models are welcome! You cannot beat that folks!

I planned on making the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and after learning about T.O.U.R., it's an added incentive and WHAT an incentive it is. Thank you Sturgis Buffalo Chip and Roadsmith Trikes for this special recognition (trikers are bikers too and for many the same reasons). I hope it becomes an annual event of the Rally and I'm excited to be one of is "chartered" participants. I'll be riding my '09 Candy Apple Red Stallion with my TT and T.O.I. decals displayed on its windshield. I hope to see many of you there as well. ThumbUp

I just pre registered. Just can't find out what time to be in Hill City. Anyone know?

I registered too. Not sure if it took. I got this back from the Buffalo Chip.
"Dear Webkahuna,
We are pleased to advise that you have been added as a Registered User to Sturgis Rally. Please read the following information carefully and be sure to save this message in a safe location for future reference"

But I think it's for something else I registered. Sorry I've been a little lost, some posts and stuff haven't been registering either. They gave me an iPhone at work and I'm afraid I'm balling it all up. Any details on the run that someone can share would be appreciated
Thanks
Gary

3:30 PM, but just where in Hill City is anyone's guess. I've sent an email to Kirk at Roadsmith Trikes, to inquire further and to get the details. Will post his reply as soon as I get a response.

Here's the reply from Kirk Rush at Roadsmith, when I inquired further for more details on the T.O.U.R.

Hello Paul,
Thanks for your note and for your enthusiasm about the upcoming event. Unfortunately, Roadsmith is only the sponsor of the event so we have limited involvement in the actual logistics in terms of follow-up, contact, etc. Here’s what we do know at this point. The event will begin at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 7th in Hill City, SD.

Registration, where you’ll sign a waiver and receive a t-shirt, will be between noon and 1:00 PM. At that time you will receive a coupon book for local Hill City vendors.

The ride will take about an hour and half ending with a police escort through downtown Sturgis, then out to the Buffalo Chip for a catered dinner with entertainment and prizes beginning just after 5:00 PM. The event ends at 7:00 PM.

Hope that helps and please be on the lookout for additional information. We’ll see you there!

All the best,

Kirk
