Thank you Skutter for naming my travel thread.

I have been following Kevin as he gives our Trike Talk friends a very intense description of his wonderful ride to Alaska. I hope to give you a little different view. And I'm not sure I know how to add a bunch to one posting but I will try.

This first picture is of our luggage. Believe it or not, yes it will all fit on trikes.

This may end up as the craziest thread you have ever tried to read. My attempt to add multiple thumbnail attachments has failed. but never the less I will do this one picture at a time. But first let's start at the beginning.

Tommy and I left our home on July 6th with the trikes loaded on our trailer. As I've stated in the chat room, we wanted to do most of our trike riding in Canada and Alaska.

We unloaded the the trikes in Helena, Montana on July 11th, packed them up and headed out early the next morning. Our first stop...Babb, Montana, 10 miles south of the Canadian border. Oh, in case you get worried because there aren't any updates, let me remind you that I can only post when there is free Wi-Fi. Some postings may only have a couple of sentences, just to let you know what the picture is. And sometimes I may just ramble. Feel free to ask questions.
Here is Tommy telling me to load up. See!!! I told you it would all fit on the trikes.

This is our room in Babb, Montana. It had 14 rooms, one TV channel, and it was fuzzy. No phone, no wi-fi, no AC....but the bed was comfy and the low that night was 54 degrees.

After a thorough search of the trikes, (seriously, the boder patrol had us unpack the trikes so the luggage could be x-rayed), we crossed into Canada and the day was perfect for riding.

I made Tommy stop so I could take this picture. Isn't BonnieBlue beautiful?

The first time i crossed the canadian Border in 1989, I pulled up and was met by a very flat chested Woman who was a border gaurd.

She asked me if i was carrying any weapons, I told her just a hatchet in my trailer.
She says no, I mean are you carrying a gun?
I said no!
Then she tells me that if i tell her no and they search me and the bike and find a gun, I am going to jail for ten yrs.
Then she asked me again and i said " look honey, is this the border of Canada or Beiruit?
Do i need one? Are you going to issue me one?

She sent me to immigration and the bike , luggage and myself and wife were searched.
Afterwards the searching agent asked me what i was sent through immigration for?
I told him him word for word what the conversation between myself and the gaurd was and he started laughing like to bust a gut.
Then he told me that the woman gaurd was a man!
OOPS!
I swear to god he looked like a woman!

He let us go and we stopped down the road about five miles to light a smoke and my cousin pulls a 25 auto pistol out of his pocket.

I might have turned a little queasy?
You know, they never asked him a single question at the border!

We had some extra time yesterday so we rode into Banff. Here is a picture of a little church I found on wolf street.

This has been one of those "stuck in one place days" but tomorrow promises to be dry and sunny. We will pack and ride early because its going to be a 425 mile ride to Prince George. I should have some pretty interesting pictures to post tomorrow night. At least I got caught up on the washing and at lunch time there was a break in the clouds and we went for lunch at a little place called the Harvest. I think mainly the locals eat there. I had a chicken wrap made with melted Brie and finely chopped pear chutney. On the side was cranberry mayo. I had my doubts about the mayo, but it was really good. Tommy had a BLT that was toasted with on ciabatta bread like a panni. Instead of lettuce though, it had spinach. Oh, and his was served with scallion mayo. We both had a cup of the broccoli, cauliflower soup. And a bottle of water that I watched them fill in their sink.

What a great thread! We have really, REALLY enjoyed our time in Canada and Alaska, especially BC.

July17th--yep, we left Canmore and rode 4-EVER!!! I didn't think we would ever arrive in Prince George. I had forgotten that through Banff and Jasper National Park that the speed limit rarely gets above 55mph. Then, take into account the many times I had to make Tommy pull over for me to make up my mind whether I was hot or cold. Thank goodness that man loves me!!

Well I promised lots of pictures-- well that's an oops. I did take some, just not a lot.

The first picture I really wanted to take was of this "thing" moving thru the tall foliage on the right side of the road. Everybody had stopped to take a picture, (except Tommy, he didn't see anything and was tickled to get around a huge line of traffic). Me?? I slowed downed, and was going to pull over when I realized -- whoa!!! DON'T STOP!!! It was a Grizzly Bear and he was bigger than me!!! So, sorry, no picture. Of course later after I thought about it, I wished I had stopped. After all, surely he would have attacked the idiots getting out of their cars and not me. Right???

So you have to be happy with picture of a snow capped mountain taken in Jasper.

Also, take note, I get my days lost a lot. I think we left Canmore on the 16th.

Anyway, while in Prince George I found this nice man, but he wasn't much help at the casino, although he does represent the logging industry in Prince George. His name is

And no, I don't know the name of the river. It see s to change its name often although I think it's the same one.
