I searched the forum a little, but i will go ahead and pose a question.

 I have several guns i have bought and have been in my possession for many years, and a few passed down through family that i would like to figure out what they are worth, but don't wish to buy a gun blue book or buy into a subscription on line to find out.

I haven't shot some of them for many years and have two i have never put a round through, though all are used.
I was a wood carver when i wore a younger mans hair length and some are intricately carved by myself.

Any suggestions?

Try an online search at gunbroker.com, gunauction.com, etc. to get an idea of current sales prices.

Don't get your hopes up to sell your guns for a lot of money, unless you have a rare Colt from the 1800's or something similar.

+1 on checking comparable weapons on GB or GunsAmerica sold in the last 60-90 days. Of course, the custom woodwork, like other custom mods, can't really be judged in that method as they are unique. Their additional worth can't be objectively valued. "Beauty in the eye of the beholder" when it comes to those adds.
Selling or to insure or just curious?

+ 2 on checking gunbroker or gunauction -- how about a couple of pics of the custom carved guns

I willl consider a few pictures when i get time to snap and convert them for view.

Thanks for the info folks, I knew i could count on you.

Just curious. If you see a gun going for X amount of dollars on Gun Broker, let's say $500, why would someone else's, same gun, be worth 50% to 80% less? Aren't the prices on GB true market prices and what people are paying?
