I'm getting ready to install Race Tech springs in the forks of my 2005 Goldwing with Champion trike kit. The forks have 1 1/2 inch extensions on them that came with the 4.5 degree rake kit. The Race Tech springs are the 1.1's, so they are pretty stiff. I'm not using their Gold Valves and plan to use 10 weight oil. Race Tech springs are about 1 inch shorter than the stock Goldwing springs. I called Race Tech and they recommended that I cut their spacer tube so that the Race Tech spring and spacer tube equal the length of the stock spring and spacer. (The Race Tech kit did include a number of thick spacer washers to tweek the setup.)
I'm not looking for the softest ride, but more positive steering. Although I'd rather not feel every little bump. I weigh about 160. I'm curious what others have done with a similar setup. Looking to getting it real close the first time around, if possible. ;)
