What did you do to your Trike this week?

Re: If you can, what work are you doing on your trike this winter.

That is on my list of things to do also Rosey. I often turn the radio off while riding, but there are times when I want to listen to music and it is often in areas that I can not find anything I like!

Re: If you can, what work are you doing on your trike this winter.

I have XM radio, BUT, in NH, with all the hills and trees, reception can be spotty. That's the time I use my CD player, when I am doing mountains or back roads. On the open road XM is great, with whatever style of music you like.
But, the Honda CD changer is flawed, that's why the MP3 player is coming on line.
Let know how you make out.
Saturday delivery on the MP3 player. Hurray!
Player in and wires are tidy. Time to put anti seize grease on the saddle bolts and put it back on.
Winter projects on the trike almost done.
Now go let the shop do their magic and we will be all set for summer.

Que: Buck Owens: Together again...

Re: If you can, what work are you doing on your trike this winter.

Success, the MP3 is installed and the SD card is complete and playing. Had to review the tutorial on loading the program several times, but got it done!
Now to rewire the accessory port, to more outlets ports. Too many LED lights on this port, so I have to add ports.
Will post pictures.
Then the winter projects should be done.

Rosy nothing wrong with asking the youngsters help with some of those technical issues , do it all the time . My sons and daughter in law usually help me with all that , just got to mix it up and don't use up either one .

If they don't seem to be okay with it I'm forced to remind them of my age and how much I've helped 'em:D . Sometimes a man or woman gotta do what a man or woman gotta doThumbUp , but they always come through . Just had my youngest son to down load a ton of songs to finish up a Ipod and ordered a 8 gig Sony from Best Buy ,,love my music .ThumbUp

I love the inner fairing, the chrome pops with the black.

I think it looks better than the color matched ones do. But that is just one mans opinion.

Re: If you can, what work are you doing on your trike this winter.

Keystone, I thought you were suppose to take it easy while you recouped. I guess I was wrong, you have been a busy person. The trike looks great, congrats on the work.
No work on trike today, lots on things to get done. Maybe tomorrow, if I am lucky.

I hear similar things from my Dr's.;) Guess my version of taking it easy is different!

OK, more terminals added to the accessory port so I can add more lights or whatever else to the trike.
I also have more terminals on the ground and positive end of the battery.

Re: If you can, what work are you doing on your trike this winter.

How are your projects coming? Mine are complete and now to "button" everything up and make sure I do not have any "spare" parts!
Next thing is to have the shop do their stuff so we can ride into the sunset this summer.
Weather getting better here in NH with lots of rain to wash the salt off the roads. State inspection and fluid changes are in the works.
I am sure this summer or fall I will make mental notes of what I will be doing for winter projects on the trike. So, maybe this coming winter we will see what new projects we will be working on. Till then, ride safe and long! See you on the road!

Re: What did you do to your trike today?

Here we are again, why do you ask, well we are all working on our trikes, so why not let everybody know what you are doing. Maybe, just maybe, you will be doing something somebody else is thinking on trying, but didn't know where to start. I am sure if somebody is doing or copying you, it is a good show of flattery.

I know I wanted to put side markers on my trike and asked Missouri Charlie if I could copy his design, he said sure, but I never did. I put Kuryakin lighted highway boards on instead.
So, what are you doing to your trike right now? Let us know!

New battery on the trike and a coat of wax, got tach working on the chopper and fixed the grill on the CF Moto. ;)

I started my winter project last fall , I wanted to trade my 2 HD ROADGLIDE trikes for a new TRIGLIDE well three HD dealers told me my ROADGLIDES were worth nothing because they were not factory built, they are kit trikes & very hard to sell, at that time they were doing market value addjustments on new TRIGLIDES $2000.-$4000. over retail . so after 40 years of HD SCREWING I went & traded My two ROADGLIDES for 2008 GL1800 CSC COBRA it had 5300 miles on it, I road in october for about 1300 miles ,

it had a vibration in it so over the winter I changed the front tire to A BATTLAX put centramatic front balancers sent the forks out to RACE TEC had springs, goldvalves , rebiuld ,put CAD TO CHROME fork tube xtenders, SUPER BRACE , STAN THE MAN drive shaft , had a loose left wheel bearing factory defect, the rear wheels were out of round one 60 thousands the other 28 , I bought 4 new american racing wheels out of the box one was 36 thousand out, one 28, one 12, one 8, so no more vibration,

put on a f4&4 windshield BAKER WINGS , MUSTANG SEAT, MADE HEAR IN THREE RIVERS MASS. upgraded my headlight bulbs , handle bar risers , new grips, new spark plugs, K&N air filter , mobil one oil, one of the new BATTERY TENDER LITHIUM batterys , THE LAST BIG PROJECT WAS ONE OF THE NEW STYLE FAST FLOW CSC AUXILIARY FUEL TANKS. finished it SUNDAY morning went for a 271 mile ride , went from mass, to new hampshire to vermont to new york back into mass, what a great TRIKE, IM GLAD I TRADED , IT WAS A LONG WINTER.

So, Road Dog we are going to see this beauty at the NETT Rally? Can't wait.
Is your front tire a rear tire, if so how did you mount it? What pressure are you running on the front?
Boy, my work this winter is peanuts compare to some of you guys! WOW!

ITS a rear mounted backwords , whats weird is I set the tire pressure at 38 in the front & 24 in rear sunday before I left, I had been about 250 miles with 2, 5 minute stops all day I had stopped to change my glass's & checked the air pressure for the HELL of it the front was 45 & the rears were 29 it was only 60 - 70 degrees I reset them went the rest of the way home & checked they were the same checked the next morning the were front 37 rear 22 I had never checked air pressure on the road , IM going to leave them at the 37 & 22 & see if they change when I ride ir again , which may be a while 26 degrees again this morning the road are all $HIT again from the sand trucks tuesday night ??????????????????????

Had my shop put an MPA on my Wing on backwards and he set the tire pressure cold at 41 psi. When you speak tire pressures you speak cold, that's why they say never check your pressure when tire is "hot".
I have always ran it at 41 psi and the shop set the rears at 22 psi. I have a set of Michelin Primacy on the rear.
Have done 12 hour trips with those pressures going to DC and back.
You may want to look into this pressure thing, because if you set them to low, you may not get the mileage out of the tire as you expected. I read some people are getting 25,000 from their front tires at between 38 to 41 psi.
