Anybody have problems with bleeding rear brakes on their Champion/Roadie conversion? I have a little braking but pedal is not what it should be. I've bled the day lights out of this thing and still haven't gotten it where it needs to be. Maybe ifn I take the valve off from in front of the MC it will bleed properly?

The speed bleeders you asked about MAY be M7 but I can't say for sure on a VW... that is the size most motorcycles use.

As far as bleeding, keep your standard bleed valves. Go down to the feed store and buy a large vetinary syringe and get a small piece of clear hose to go over the nozzle part. Then get a 1/4" piece of clear hose to make an adapter for the small hose so it will fit over the clear hose. Use superglue to glue on the hose and adapter as they blow off otherwise under pressure. Remove your master cylinder cover and open a bleed valve. Draw some brake fluid into the syringe and put the 1/4" hose end over the opened bleed valve. The bleed valve may leak some unless you have put some teflon tape around it, by the way. Then push the brake fluid through the caliper and hose and up into the master cylinder. This displaces air bubbles quickly. Remember that Dot 3 & Dot 4 are paint removers so cover whatever can be splattered. Speed bleeders work but only if there is just a bit of air in the system. They will not work using the syringe method described as they are one-way check valves.
