How To Post a Picture

What operating system are you running, if its an older version of Windows you should have a program called 'Paint' and you can resize photos with it and save it as a JPG or JPEG file. I don't know what Apple uses, but it could be similar.

I have Window's 10. I'll try the paint program, Thanks Go Navy.

rsz_img_0425.jpg Thanks Trike Lady. The Paint program worked.

Are y'all saying that there is no Tapatalk link for TrikeTalk? I couldn't see one but it could be named different I suppose. I know not all do so it wouldn't surprise me if you can get there using TapaTalk.

The best way to post pictures you have stored on your computer hard drive (or some other local media) is to post them as inline attachments. I will take you through the process as I usually do it.

When you are composing your post, above the text area is our editor toolbar, and on this toolbar is a button for inserting images. Put your cursor in the text box where you want the image you are going to upload to appear, and then click the "Insert Image" button:

View attachment 41370

Click that button, and the first time during composing a post, you will see the following popup dialog box:

View attachment 41371

I generally like to add pics to a post one at a time, so I click the "Basic Uploader" link in the lower right of the dialog box. When you click that, you will see:

View attachment 41372

Okay, at this point you haven't selected a file for upload, but that's what the "Browse" button is for...it allows you to browse your local media, such as your hard drive(s) to select the image you want to post. So, click the "Browse" button, and you will see a file selection popup similar to this (it will depend on the operating system you are using, but it will be the same popup you get whenever you are selecting files through your operating system):

View attachment 41373

At this point, browse your local media to go to the folder where the image you wish to attach is located and select it, if you are using Windows then you can double-click the image file you wish to attach. Other operating systems likely behave very similarly.

Once you have selected the image file, the dialog box now looks like this:

View attachment 41374

You should see the name of the file you selected to the immediate right of the "Browse" button. The next step is to upload the file to TrikeTalk, and so you want to click the "Upload File(s)" link directly below the "Browse" button. This will take a second or two depending on the size of the file you are uploading. Bear in mind that there is a limit to the size of the files that can be uploaded, but from what I have seen, Randy (the site owner) has set these limits pretty high to allow for high resolution images for showing off everyone's awesome rides. ThumbUp

Once the uploading process is completed, you should see something like this where your cursor in the textbox was located:

where "xxxxx" will be a number identifying your attachment. If you are using the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, you will see a thumbnail of the image instead. I prefer the standard editor so I can see the raw BBCodes, but many people prefer the WYSIWYG editor.

If you wish to upload more pics to your post, then put your cursor in the text box where you want the next image to appear and click the "Insert Image" button on the toolbar again. This time, and all subsequent times you click the "Insert Image" button, the popup dialog box will look slightly different. Now it will look like this:

View attachment 41375

You will need to click the "From Computer" tab directly beneath where it says "Insert Image" and then the dialog box will look like this:

View attachment 41372

Now you can browse you local media again, and your operating system will likely recall the location you uploaded from last time and take you to that same folder automatically. Select the next file, and repeat the uploading process. Do this now for all images you wish to attach.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask and I or someone else will be glad to answer. :D

Doesn't work! I select the file, I select "upload" I see the percentage count down but nothing shows.

To my knowledge no membership is required to post pics.I click on the replay icon and on the screen that pops up there are 3 rows of symbols across the top.On the middle row 3rd block of symbols from the right there is one that is a square with looks like a tree in it.Click that one and select your pic.If your pic isn't too large all should work and if it is just resize it and try again.Thats what works for me.

BY CRACKEY!!!! IT WORKED!!! So much easier than trying to follow the proper “add photo” instructions found elsewhere on the site! THANK YOU MARC!

By the way... sorry to hijack the thread but just had to try adding a pic with these new instructions. AND... I don’t miss those dust storms rolling into west Texas since I moved to Kerrville.

OK.. we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming....

I'm too old to learn to learn your way of posting pictures

I 'm 71 (or) 72 years old. I tried to post a picture my first year, but gave up. What ever happened to copy and paste or drag and drop?

My trike is a 2109 HD Triglide in scorched orange and matte black. If anyone has a real need to see my trike, look in HD's 2019 catalogue. I'd rather be riding than trying to become an expert computer picture poster.

P.S. Before I retired I was a computerized security, video and access systems integrator. Much easier to design a 500 point plus system than post a picture on this system. Merry Christmas.

Sorry to hear I set my camera on VGA and load them into pictures on my laptop THEN SELECT THEM FROM THE SIXTH iCON right to left on center line of icons. works great for me. it is a little different because of the size limitations (pixels) but an old DOT officer like me figured it out. Good luck again sorry to hear of your flustration. ride safe Fred

I've wanted a Harley since I was 18 years old and never really thought it would be possible due to my small size. Well, fast forward 37 years and I am now the owner of a Harley-Davidson XL1200C Trike and I call her Trinity.

The first photo is what it looked like before I started making changes.

Trike Smaller Photo.jpg

Second photo is the trike parked in front of our local Harley dealership after changes have been made. Some of what I've done has been to change the front wheel from a 21" spoked wheel to a 19" cast aluminum wheel and powder coated the front and rear wheels. Changed out the handlebars to a set of HD reduced reach bars, installed an EZ Clutch, smaller grips, adjustable clutch lever and brake lever and set to the smallest setting, removed the luggage rack and lowered the plate holder to the bottom of the rear fender, powder coated several removable items (mirrors, brake lever, crash bar, etc.) gloss black, changed out the front brake to a 4 piston brake from 2 piston and in the process of installing new brake system on the rear to help with stopping. A few other things have been done here and there but I'm basically done with the exception of getting a Cafe fairing from Memphis Shades. Oh, planning on completely redoing the lights and adding blinky stuff so that I am more readily seen.

This photo is just an artsy fartsy edited photo of the trike sitting in front of my buddies house:

Another edited photo:

And last but not least, Sweeney himself with a cheesy grin:

That's all folks! Have a great day!

I'm an idiot

My bad...

Thought I was in the thread for photos of our bikes, didn't realize I was in the "How to Post a Pic". I've tried to delete my post and repost in the proper thread but I can't figure out how to delete this or move it the proper place on the forum.

Great way to get started on here...

Sweeney
