Hi, a couple of friends with trikes recommended I read this site to get different opinions on 1) whether I should trike my 2008 Goldwing and 2) if I do, what kind of trike kit I should consider.
Triketalk looks like a great site.

Welcome glad you joined us. IMO I would not hesitate another minute. Kits ate like cars depends on which one you like. If you are not doing the work yourself find an installer you like and trust. I ride a 08Wing/Roadsmith/6degree rake. GOOD LUCK/RIDE SAFE

Is the question whether to trike, or which trike kit? If it is the latter, I'd suggest you look at the various kits, and decide which appeals to you. More importantly, find a good installer, because the installer can make all the difference.

If you're looking for maximum comfort, I'd seriously consider one of the longer wheelbase IRS kits such as the Roadsmith and Hannigan.
And for what it's worth, I have never seen a thread or post where a person regretted triking their bike.
Welcome from Southeast Alaska!
Good Luck in your To Trike/Not to Trike/What Trike Adventure!
Was in Colorado Springs a few years ago and stopped by Apex Sports. Bought a couple of helmets there. They are a DFT Dealer and I believe they have a triked GL1800 available that they may let you test ride, if that is something you are interested in.
Let us know what you decide.
Welcome to Trike Talk from SE Missouri. If you are even thinking about triking your Goldwing you will be happy with this forum and the riders and looking at their trikes. Good luck with finding the trike kit that fits you the best.
Welcome if you Trike get the kit you like the looks of and a good installer. I ride a Champion with solid axle not the best on bad roads but not much differance on good roads the advantage is price of parts should you need them go to local auto store and buy them cheap and of couse the waranty is better .
Welcome to Trike Talk!!! Tons of experience and knowledge to by shared here. Please don't hold back on yours.
You have some pretty twisty roads in your part of the country. We have really enjoyed them every time we've been there. One of the reasons I chose Motor Trike was for the short narrow design. It handles tight turns and twisties so well. I'm not going to say the long conversions will not perform on those roads but I truly believe the shorter ones will do better. Especially if you tend to push the envelope some.
You will find good and not so good things about every conversion so ride and research as many as you can. As mentioned earlier, the installer can make an otherwise wonderful experience a real nightmare so get lots of references and talk nuts and bolts with them.

Hello ColoNavy and welcome to the website from the U.P. of Michigan. Some trike kits have different options, so not only should you be looking for a dealer that you can depend on, you can look at the different kit options that might make a difference for you. I wish you luck, send pictures when you get all done.
