</div>I use to run Mustang seats on my harley softails -- they were great -- when I went to the ultra and then the tri-glide they were just awful -- bought one in Mrytle beach and had to stop at 2 wal-marts to buy foam to eliminate the sore spots -- 1000 miles later I called Mustang and they took the seat back -- no hassles what so ever, they did ask me if I rode at least 200 miles on the seat to try and break it in -- I was way over that. I don't know why they worked so well on the softail frame and were that bad on the ultra and trike. Like I said the customer service was great and no problem returning the seats. Thats just my experience, I'm sure you will get a ton of other opinions. Good luck with your decision.

I had one for a Vulcan 1700. Did not ride well. They took it back no questions.
However, I have a friend that loves it on his Vulcan. It took 6 months for him to get comfortable with it though.

I bought one for my 08 gl1800 the three pieces with heat list for $1500. It sucks the heat quit after using it 3 times , you can not get the side covers off with the seat on , 125 miles & your begging to stop , IM trying to get the place i bought it from to take it back, My wife says the stock seat was better. a few people had diamond seats last weekend at the rally & said they liked them , I will buy a diamond or a russell .

My experiences were a little different from the above posts. I bought a Mustang for my 2007 Harley Ultra. Loved it. So much more comfortable than that stock thing. Fact is, when I sold the Harley in June I kept the seat and recently sold it to a gentlemen thru Ebay.<br />

The seat wore well, and the padding held up great. In my experience the seat served me well.

Thanks..looks like they do better on Harleys than Honda ...the seat has only been available for a year or so for the 2012 Honda..Russell was mentioned ,that is also an option just takes a long time to get one..im open to all oppinions ..thanks

Tried one as a "loaner" on my 1800 before I triked it out. It was awful. Hard as a rock and flat too. I have used them on HD's for years and really liked them. I sent the stock seat off to Russell Cycle and had them rebuild it and recover it. The rebuild, rain covers, velour inserts, back rest recovered, shipping and all was less than a new Mustang. I love it. They are the only seat company that I know of who guarantees you will be comfortable. If they can't get you satisfied and two trys you get your money back. Just my thoughts.

If you get a chance try the Ultra seat.
Ive had in the distant past tried a ton of seats, Mustang included.
Im a confirmed Ultra customer now.

Although.
Id love to try a Russell.
I cant commit to the upfront postage on an unknown long distance be without a seat kind of deal.

I have a 2012 Honda Goldwing CSC Trike. Never could get comfortable on the stock seat. I had a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900LT with a Mustang seat and it was great. I purchased the heated seat, driver and passenger back rest for my Goldwing. I installed MLB handlebar risers and adjusted the foot pegs to where I am more comfortable. The wife can sit up better but still prefers a cushion so she can see over my head. I have had difficulty aligning the bolts to the frame. I have stripped the holes in the frame trying to align the bolts through the handrails, seat and frame and have had to rethread the holes. I still cannot get the bolts to align up on one side. I have checked underneath the seat prior to installing to make sure there was no wiring preventing the holes for aligning correct but not much luck.

I will continue trying until I get it to fit. The side covers will come off with the seat in place but you have to be careful without breaking them.

</div>Try using long phillips screwdrivers that will go all the way thru to hold the seat in line and take a grinder and taper the ends of your bolts ( make sure you clean-up the threads either with a die or a mini taper file. Do not tighten any of them until you get them all started well.... Good Luck..

I have a Mustang seat on my Road Star and love it. The stock seat was like sitting on a cinderblock. I have ridden coast to coast with the Mustang seat and never felt an a$$ ache. I'm going to go with a Russell for the Wing because it will be custom fitted to my butt.

I had a Mustang on a 2000 Ultra, loved it, later put one an 07 Ultra, loved it, later put one on a 10 TriGlide, hated it gave it away to the new owner when I sold the TriGlide, in 12 put heated Mustang on 2012 Ultra, hated it sold it on ebay. i now have a HD Road Zephlyn on 12 Ultra, love it. Jury still out on 08 GL1800/CSC stock seat not to bad/not to good but am not considering Mustang.
