Anyone else?

Anyone else

I do know how irritating open headers are , especially if you drive any distance . I have a turbo beetle with a 2387 also and I drive it on the street . I ended up putting a glass pack muffler on to take the edge off the noise , works pretty good until I twist it then you can hear it a mile away , LOL . I have to finish reading all of your post but it sounds like you are building a monster . Mike McCarthy

Well it aint a turbo motor.

I dont mind loud out the back. It has always been that. But out the sides......well i dunno....

We will see.

Might end up with whatever fits the space.

Sorry
No updates.
Spent those 2 weeks at the hospital with the wife.
Now lots of work to catch up on.
Then the little girlie's paperwork for college.
Next is follow up doctor visits.

Just no time left for the scooter.

The end result is something like this.

One on each head pipe.

If the theory hold true it will not really increase maximum VE.

But

VE will be much higher at lower rpm. Torque curve should be bigger and "on" sooner.

Does this by reducing the negative side effects of large cam valve overlap.

I just finished reading your posts and I admire your abilities plus I am envious of your shop . LOL Our engines are very similar in that we both have the same 2387 , same cam, rod ratio ect. I do believe you will be very happy with the driveability of the combination , mine drives like a stock engine until I roll on the throttle . Again , great job. Mike McCarthy

Still working on headers.
Whittling out the clamps, slip joints, collectors and thread bungs for the o2 sensors.
Lots of tedious small stuff.

How you like the fk10?

^...Nice racetoy Mike:clapping:(Not sure I buy the "street" engine tho?:xzqxz:)

With that kind of horsepower in a trike it would likely be a handful handling wise, in traffic, wouldn't it?

Be fun either way in my opinionThumbUp

I sold my race car without the engine plus my wheels and electronics to a friend. I built another car for a class called Unlimited Street . In this class you have to complete a 26 mile cruise and then you race "Heads Up " in the 1/8th mile . My car is licensed and insured and I do drive it on sunny days . The engine was dynoed at 366 rwhp and over 400 at the flywheel .

I would NOT ride this in a trike chassis , I believe Deaths 2387 should be utterly insane as it is. The video pass on my race car the wheely bars broke , that is why the front end went that high, it was not planned , LOL Mike

No new news.

Life has had me down for a couple months. First with a sick wife, then after that we all had the flu.

I have missed a lot of work and am so far behind.

It leaves me with very little time to work on the hobby or do much posting.

Right now I am home but just too tired to do anything else.

The sun is out and everything is in bloom here. Grass needs cut and it is time to ride. So I will have to get busy soon with the scooter.

O yeah......and in the middle of all that......and with girlie just getting over the flu.......I had to take more time away from work to carry her to her college interview.

She is trying to skip over regular high school and start at the community college next season. The high school aint got much to offer her. She has been in stem school the past 2 yrs, which is basically engineering prep school. As she is still 2yrs away from driving age I am unsure of how I am gonna get her transported to the college. But I will work it out somehow.

That is if she is accepted as an early start.

got pretty quiet over here on the vw forum ,glad to hear all of you are on the mend.....lottsa of flu up here this winter, some getting it twice. anyhow glad to see you are back, good luck on catching up! larry

Like you Snu I have had the flu for 6 weeks, thought that maybe my time was up but guess God wasn't ready for me becuase I am recovering. Mike

Well all last week and all weekend was miserable working. But finally feel back alive this week. Still working long days getting caught up.

I have worked with the header parts and pieces a small amount. No pics or anything.

Getting back into things though.
