Speaker distortion in 2015 TriGlide

So, I like my tunes loud and have many tracks with lots of bass.

Getting distortion from the speakers in the rear, maybe in front, too, but its very pronounced in the rear.

Is that normal? I understand that OEM usually does not put in premium components, so if that's the case, what's the fix?

Thanks, Vince.

Vince, you and I are in the same boat - I love my music LOUD and bassy. :)

As soon as I pick up a new bike(sometimes even before) I have the speakers replaced. Usually I install HogTunes speakers , but this time with the entirely new fairing, I didn't want to take a chance that HT's wouldn't fit. I went with the H-D Boom speakers and amp.
I did get some buzz in the front left speaker, but the dealer replaced it immediately.

If you like your music like you said - get the upgrade speakers and amp - you'll love it. :pepper: ThumbUp

Are you referring to this amp?:
Fairing Mounted Boom! Audio Amplifier Kit-76000278

Speakers plus amp, that's nearly $1000.00 without installation charges. Are there any other options that are pocket-book friendly?

Yes, Hog Tunes is a bit cheaper and there are other aftermarket kits too. Or you can do what I did at first = just upgrade the speakers only - that makes a big difference. The amp thing I just did recently because I had some extra money laying around and I wear E.A.R. plugs when riding so I need a little more push - if you know what I mean. ;)

You can always add an amp later if you want. Replacing the speakers yourself is a snap.

Oh, Ok, that's a great suggestion! I'll try the speaker option first.

Thanks!

I bought a Sony Studio Professional headset, took off the head gear and velcro'd the ear pieces into my helmet. I can listed to the most obscure music in the world loud enough to make my eyes bleed and not bother a soul. Wind, muffler, or truck noises don't bother a thing. My son dropped $1500 for speakers, amps, and new saddle bag tops with speakers. Can't even hear him with my music turned on :p

No - I'm referring to 7600280 - includes everything.

Screwball, the reason I don't wear a headset is because one, it's illegal in a lot of places and two, I want to hear what's happening around me - even with my music above normal listening levels. :D

Besides I like to share my music with EVERYONE within a mile radius.

I even cut off the speakers from my H-D CB headset. I just clip that unit to my jacket and listen to the CB over the radios speakers. ThumbUp

Ok, still the same cost I mentioned earlier, $999.00. So will try the speakers-only option first, then add the amp, if warranted.

Thanks!

Same here. Just bought a set from SURDYKE. They are running an ad for 159.00 for the rear. Same for the front. I picked up both. Paypal bill me later. :D
