I am wondering how many of us have a trike for both husband and wife. We are retired and have a 2014 TriGlide. We are considering getting a second trike so she can have her own. She has a problem working the clutch on the TG so we are considering a Can-Am Spyder with the semi-auto transmission. Anyone have any helpful thoughts on this idea or other options.

Great idea..No clutch just a finger padal to shift and auto shifts down..One brake and its a foot brake that operates all the brakes.
I went from a Tri Glide to the new 1330 can am spyder and could not be happier with my choice..

Power steering is a plus for me..

Test ride one its worth it!!ThumbUp

After buying my 2010 Harley trike the Wife traded in her Sportster on a new 2010 FLHXXX and we have not looked back - love our trikes. I test drove a CamAm and sorry its not for me. Best of luck with your search,

I also was tired of the way the Harley Trike rode and wrenching on all the bad parts that keep going bad. The ride on the can am if far smoother and was very impressed. I don't feel all beat up after a nice ride anymore or hot.:D I took me and my Babe for a long test ride before we decided and we both are very happy.. Harley will need to make huge improvements for me to go back in the future.
the 2014 models on up are the way to go on the Cam Am spyder.

The stiff ride is what got us to start talking. We have played around with the air pressures but still bottom out once in a while. When we do, she is laid up for a couple days. We have not ridden a Spyder yet but have noticed a few things we really like about them just by sitting on them. They seem to be more advanced in the user control area for one and the suspension seems a bit softer. Will have to ride one soon to see if she still wants to pursue this.

Well good luck!! The end of the year deals are going on as the 2015 spyders will be out in Feb I hear..and some newer colors..

I went with the RT Limited..has all the goodies on it..But other models are out there

just seen my dealer lowered the price since I bought mine..Must be getting close to the 2015 coming out..

SpYder Ryding is awesome...

Really pleased with my '13 SpYder RS-S

Yeah, the new F3 is cool, but I would MUCH rather and gladly trade up to a SpYder '14 ST-S!

I bought my wife one for her birthday/Christmas last year. I found myself riding her Spyder RS more than my VTX 1800 so she returned the favor by buying me an RSS for my birthday last June. :pepper:

She has the semi automatic SE5 and I have the manual SM5. She truly enjoys riding now every chance she gets.

She's definately a keeper.
Oh, and your wife isn't too bad of a sport either... ;-) hahaha always the joker here..

Congrats on the pair of bikes, it must be a lot of fun to ryde together now.
I love my RS-S so much, I can hardly express it in words or simple phrase.

Please post some pics of your duo...

Happy trails, and ryde safe...

It would appears that you both are ryding in "comfort" and with plenty of style. ;-)

How do you answers all those curious bystander questions? Just give them the BRP website...

I am sad, that our awesome season is drawing quickly to its close. Well it is, unless one chose Skidoo suits... Hehehe
Oh my, without heated grips, it gets numbing.
I already froze my upper lip, one night last week on a cold nights journey.

Next Spring will be a welcome event...

Thanks for the pics, they look awesome, especially the two tone seats.. Get yourself some outdoor covers for them bikes. Keeping them in pristine condition.

Happy trails to you both.

Thanks for the kind words. No need for outdoor covers as they stay nice and cozy in the garage when we aren't riding them. If we get caught in a rain we just keep on riding as they handle great in the rain. When parked we sometimes used covers to keep curious people from sitting on them and taking pics.

Also, in Houston the riding season is year round so we just keep on riding!!

Take care!

Old Thread, new Spyder. While learning to ride on the TriGlide and having trouble with the clutch pull and the rough ride, my wife got serious about a Spyder. She got a chance to test ride one and there was no question. She bought one the dealer found for her at another dealer. Should be able to pick it up next week. Nice valentines gift for her.

2014 Spyder RT Limited, Pearl White. Should make my Black TriGlide stand out big time.

Thanks everyone for your comments and assistance. Will figure out how to post pictures when we have some to post.

Oh Man ! she will like the SE6 semi automatic then an the power steering.

May want to be sure about the reach..May need to get the TRI AXIS handle bars to help with that?? :D

Good Luck!

Trikermutha you were more help than you may know. We followed your transition from the TriGlide to the Spyder as you posted various things. I will be sticking with the TriGlide but she will become a spyderlover. When she went to test ride the spyder she followed the salesman on a Harley out onto the street. She had practiced with the TriGlide in parking lots and had ridden a Honda 90 fifty years ago, but had never ridden in traffic before. She did great. I'm kinda proud of her. we figured the salesman would be riding 2 up so it was a surprise when he said to follow him. She came back smitten.

There maybe a few more add on's later I bet as I am adding a few things myself this winter.

Tri axis bars. Oh the heated grips and seat are a plus in my book.. As I get older these little things made a big difference on how I ride now.

even added a new sway bar.and some LED lighting. Working on that ugly BRP sticker now..Putting in a custom LED light in that spot..

well anyway I am glad you followed my journey..:D

Need any advise feel free to send me a message.

good Luck..

Purchased a pre-owned 2010 RT three years ago and have over 20K miles I have put on it. It had a bad front factory tire and I change them both after 15 months of dealing with the Elvis syndrome. I put on Bridgestones and it's been a great ride ever since.
I've added some LEDs for safety from TricLED. Also a BajaRon sway bar.

I can't ride two wheels anymore so the Spyder has been great for me.
