From Oklahoma?

i am originally from bartlesville-still have family there-am now transplanted to se kansas. but i have always been, and will always be an OKIE!-dave

Nice looking trike you got! If you're ever down this way (Grove) let us know and come ride with us. We got in 2 rides last week but doesn't look good for this week. Only supposed to be in the low 40's all week!

jeannie girl: I am on here..i see where they are asking about how old you have to be to ride a trike? Maybe you had best put mine in again and let them know that on feb. 14th i will hit the high 75!!! Call me and see you soon....hi to all

ms.pinky;)
any members on this forum from oklahoma?

I was born in Ponca City, OK many, many years ago, but moved to Kansas at the advanced age of 2 years old.

I currently live in the SW corner of Kansas and my house is only 6 blocks from the OK state line. Do I qualify?

Have two married sons living in Stillwater and Dover OK, so I'm in state often to visit grandkids.

we will down your way just as soon as the weather allows us to be! wife and i go to grand lake casino several times a year, and love the ride from highway 60 west of wyandotte down highway 10 to the casino. really pretty country. not much scenery like that up here in jayhawker land. we'll let you know the next time we're heading that way. we are planning to go down to disney-ketchum sometime this summer to watch the rock crawlers run. everybody says that is pretty cool. would also like to meet ms.pinky too, and see that cool vw trike!

Just let us know a little ahead of time and we'll meet up with you. Pinky only lives about a mile from the casino. We do a lot of the "spare of the moment rides" like the 2 we did last week. We'll drop what we're doing at a moments notice and jump on the trikes and go! Have you been all the way around Grand Lake on back roads yet by trike? There's some nice curves. How about Copperhead road?

Is a displaced okie the same as a misplaced okie?

I've got kids and grandkids trying to get me back down there, so who knows? I may, at some point be a replaced okie.

shadowokie-
have not been all the way around grand on back roads, but sounds fun. i've not heard of copperhead road except in the song. i hope you realize you are getting our riding fever going, then i look outside at this storm blowing in.:( anyway, we'll be sure to holler when the weather straightens up!-dave

My wife is a transplanted Okie. She was born in Broken Arrow. We're in Topeka. Southern Missou and Arkansas are some of our favorite roads. Tell me more about Copperhead, always interested in new rides. Have you guys done the Talamena Trail? Great Ride.

Dwight

son and i did talimena 5 years ago on 2 wheelers- it was great! am planning on going back with the trike. also, want to go to mt. magazine. i hear it's pretty awesome. have a good friend who lives in poteau, so we'll probably make it down there this summer-dave

Well... we weren't born in Oklahoma, never lived there, (Actually we are from Minnesota) but we do live in Anderson, MO, 22 miles from Grove OK, 49 miles from Baxter Springs KS and 16 miles from the Arkansas/MO state line.

Much fine riding in the 4-state area!

ozarkryder-
my grandparents all lived in the bella vista-bentonvile area, so i grew up roamin' around down in your area(this was before wal-mart when sam walton was a local businessman in bentonville). there is alot of really beautiful country there, and i enjoy riding there whenever we get an opportunity-dave

Copperhead Road is only actually 14 miles long on Hwy.20/82 but has 69 curves. A fun ride along with the many back roads starting in Salina and going around Grand Lake. It's hard to explain because of different ways of going around. You'd want to go across the damn at Disney for sure. The State park in Spavinaw is really pretty. So many side roads to take, even to Talequah riding along the Illinois River. A lot of riding for 1 day. You may want to spend the weekwend. Be sure to contact us first and we'll do you up a map or better yet let us know when you're coming and we'll take you on some awesome rides. We haven't done the Talamena yet but want to this year.

Seems we need more members from Oklahoma. Great riding in Eastern part of state, surely there are trikers there.

ricle.....yes, there are trikers down here. Out of our 80 club members there are 12 trikers. That's just with our club. We know many more around the area.
There is a trike show by BTW (Brothers of the Third Wheel) the last weekend in April at Spavinaw State Park. Check my album and see a few of the trikes from last year. By the way, check out the BTW site, a great org. to belong to. If you break down along a ride they will come get you and get your trike back home. They span all over the country. Third weekend in May they have a trike show at Twin Bridges State Park (north end of the lake). We also do a lot of riding in Missouri and Arkanas. Riding 76 and going over to Rockaway Beach, Mo is one of my favorite. One great rally over there the third weekend in Aug.

shadowokie,
i'll definitely let you know when we come down. i've been to salina to the car races, but have not been on around from there.
how you all doing after yesterday's storm? we didn't get as much snow here as they called for, but one single flake is too much for me! hope all of you are ok.

We ended up with 5 inches. I really hate snow and ice. I am soooooo ready for riding weather to get here. Can't believe we went on 2 rides just last week, now this crap again! At least we didn't get the ice. I moved here from Northern Ill. in 1976 so I got enough of this weather when I was I kid and could take it. I think every day should be TRIKING weather!LOL

I do not live there ,but did get to ride through there labor day week.Red Rock Caynon,Hinton-Part of Route66,Chisom Trail and Sod House Mesuems(BOTH CLOSED ON MONDAYS) As my name sez LUCKY? Met some great people and had a good time tho.
