Have you had experiences with APEX ATV, California Custom Trikes

Just wondering if anyone out there has any experience with Apex ATV that makes California Custom Trikes?

They are located in Chandler AZ, a suburb of Phoenix.

I am testing the waters before I post my experiences with these people.

If anyone has ever talked or exchanged email with them, I sure would like to know.

Meanwhile, I'll just sit back and see if anyone reads this post.

california trikes are apex trikes with some custom stuff not worth the extra 2 to 3 thousand bucks difference. they are not painted, color is in the gelcoat. they do offer an auto trans. i would go there if possible and check them out in person, get a test drive?

I like my trike, BUT................

I do have an auto trans.

Anyone that is thinking about this company, PLEASE phone me and I'll let you know my experiences.

Nice trike, BUT, I had to made changes. Also the customer service,........well give me a call at (971) 344-0832.

Buckeye Trike in Akron,Oh. use to sell them. I had thought about buying one but was told they were having electrical problems at that time,so I went a different route and bought the one I have now.

UPDATE:

Too many trike deals out there. My trike is fine after a remodel. Just buy another brand. They even owe money to BTW for advertising. They will never get it.

This is what I know about Apex and California Trike. The info I have is from email and talking to thier salesman over a 6 month period. Apex bought the rights to California Trikes, they took it over to Taiwan and proto typed it. They spent a lot of time on it and originally was charging $12,000 for them on e-bay. What they do is ship the frame and parts over to Phoenix and then they add a vw motorand assemble them. They were supposedly offering automatic as a $3,000 upgrade. They wanted a large deposit to pre order one before they were available, but I wanted to ride one first. They kept putting my off for over 6 months, then a never got a call back. One other problem I had, was I wanted to know the length and inclusiveness of the warranty, and never could get a straight answer.

They say they have a warranty. It's not on paper, because the paper is worth more than their word.

My trike has been modified and or upgraded. It is now the way it should have been in the first place. Nice Trike.

I have my eye on another, so, mine is for sale. Bugs removed and many modifications made. Can be seen at John Berkey’s Home Page or Columbia River Rats Home Page

W E LL I guess they aint gona see about 3,029 trikers buying that Apex trike after they read this post. . Looked real good in the pictures and the web sight . One guy has a nice one for sale , said he pumped about $20,000 into it. What a shame. It really looks like a nice trike too bad they can't build them right

I had one of the first few they put out. After numerous problems I traded in on a car and took a hugh loss. I was glad to get rid of it. I definitely would not buy another one...if anybody has one, I wish them a lot of luck....

I see on their ebay site that one bidder runs the price up and drops off right before the selling price. Just don't look right to me.

seems like we aint never gona get that black cloud away from up......californis custom is just pure guano; of the worst kind too!

my last trike was build by a friend of mine, named 'Goat" and his company is called IBEX, based out of arizona. there are not many 'Trike" builders here.....IBEX and Phoenix Trike Works are the best for the money.

walk softly around california custom.......they got a very bad credit rating and their BBB rating fell off the chart years ago.

I walked into their shop with enough money in my hand to buy their trike. I looked at their trike and walked out with my money. 92 eyes

Stay away from California custom trikes

I know this post comes late but I bought one of these trikes in 2011. It has been an expensive, unreliable nightmare. At this time it has @ 4900 miles on it and I've spent close to $3000 in repairs, some of which could have been life threatening such as the rear axel nut being loose, the fuel filter dropping onto a hot pipe and melting or the throttle sticking. I can't even enjoy riding it because it can't be trusted. This company has no business manufacturing these trikes. I have receipts and 2 mechanic shops to back up my claims.

This seems to be a common issue with California Trikes.
