Finally Got The SPYDER OUT

Well the weather turned south again and got cold..Put on 600 miles before the weather changed..

The more ride time I get, the more I am amazed how not all beat up I am after a long ride.:pepper:

Sure hope the weather warms back up soon :D

By now you should have got to the point of releasing the death grip and having a lighter touch. It's when things really start to improve.;)

oh death grip is gone..just have to remember not to try and grab for a clutch and brake lever..

My Mind still attempts at times..:D

Turns are starting to get better too..

I actually went ahead and installed the after market brake accessory. Simply because I rarely ride my wife's Spyder and I'm pretty much a front brake only kind of rider. Using my foot is always a secondary thought so I was getting into some seat puckering circumstances. Great little add on by the way.

I thought about that myself at times when I am kicked back and if something decides to jump in front of me..

what did you end up buying for a hand brake?

Wow that's pricey!!! I will have to really think about that one..

Thanks ThumbUp

Yeah it is and after getting it I found out all it does is push on the back side of the existing brake mechanism with it's own set of fluid reservoir, line and pusher. Very simple set up but I wouldn't be without it. One of my brain farts and grabbing a hand full of nothing could be more than just iffy. If someone rides one all the time you get used to using your foot. It us part timers where it shines and is needed.

maybe if I found a deal on one later on I will consider it.. I do like the idea of stretching out my legs and having the brake lever close by..:D

When I had a spyder, It was a little unnerving at first not to have a hand brake, But after a short while it wasn't a problem, I would go from bike to spyder to bike with out a second thought.

Wow .. I looked at the Spyders and didn't realize no hand brake, never rode one ... they didn't want to take my ultra in trade and I didn't want to deal with selling it ... learn something new every day.

That and no clutch lever with thumb shift is great..
I had to drive the Spyder a few times before I made my final decision..The more I test drive the more I liked it and glad I went with it..:D

The only thing I don't like about the semi-automatic is it hates low speeds like parades or funeral escorts that I do. It likes to get with it and go. I've tried throwing it into neutral but been unsuccessful at that for some reason. Dealer said he thinks the nanny keeps you from making a "mistake" like that. Computers!

I don't know I was in stop and go traffic recently and seems to work fine for me. I guess there could be some kind of adjustment or oil change may solve??

Stop and go is okay. It's trying to creep along at 2mph that gets ours acting up. Like I said, it wants to GO.:)

From my understandings, And being on Spyderloves from the beginnings.. Till I sold my spyder and asked not to post negative posts, The semi-Auto is very sensitive to oil levels' Just a few ''Oz's'' will make it wankey. But a little too much and you'll get blow-bye,...

That's a fact but it does not like slow slow crawling speed or more accurately lack of speed. I really wish the was a way to put in a parade mode like a granny gear. We've got to just not doing funerals and go straight to the cemetery for that reason. It hates low speed. Now I'm talking the kind that some Harley riders have burned their clutch up on. REAL SLOW where kids running into the street in a parade to pick up candy are a hazard. SLOW!

have you put it in ECO mode and drive slow?? Just a thought.

I know turning on ECO mode takes the power down
