flrt running lights

Yes Please!

Thanks Springman

I think this is the part number for the kit I used for my lights: 69289-05. I did a search on eBay and found a used set the was from a 2010-2012 Road King. The used set came with hardware and lens/lights. If you get a kit from Harley, the lens/lights will be additional. The ground wire attaches to the light housing and grounds through the frame. I just had to run one wire from each light to the wiring harness/accessory wiring connector I used. Mine stay on all the time, I did not wire them through a switch. They are even on with high beam.
Pics to follow.

Yes please post the part number and the pics. Did you do your own switch and wiring also? Any help would be appreciated.

See my post above to Springman2007.
I did not use a switch for the lights, I ran the hot wire to an Accessory connector(I think it is the running light connector in the main harness, I can give you the location for it!) because I wanted the lights on all the time.
Pics to follow!!!

PM me if you have more questions.

They look great! I have been holding off going with LED heads and tails. I like that the conventional bulbs are/were commonly available.......but, as time goes on, LEDs seem to be becoming the mainstream - and the price of them is starting to fall. In time I will probably convert; but, not now.

The cool thing about Custom Dynamics LEDs, lifetime warranty on the LEDs so there isn't the worry of then burning out. The other thing is that on the FLRT they are a drop in replacement in most cases (I replaced the whole headlight assembly so more than a drop in) so if something does happen you can still just plug in a regular bulb. Something to think about :D

Has anyone added the passing lights while using the clearview shields extended windshield? and/or the JES fangs???

Day Running Lights

I was at the HD Dealer today looking at lights. They have White LED Lights that can go in the two bullet turn signal lights. The are white when running but blink Amber when using turn signal. They are a simple install by just replacing the bulbs and the cap from Amber to Clear. Cost for bulbs is $89 and the new clear lenses are $10.

They also have a LED Bulb to replace the Head Lamp and its only $70. Again, its just plug and play.

Thinking about trying them on my FW. I road the other night for the first time and having the two bullet lights white vice amber will make a big difference.

The turn signals are what I have. They are awesome, Custom Dynamics makes them. The headlight bulb for $70 is what I had at first, the light pattern is not directed properly with the factory reflector, and it gave me an electrical fault light if I went from low to high and back a couple times.

I missed the fangs, and thought that was a clearview shield! Just didn't want to ASSume LOL

Easy fix and love them....

I solved this problem with the LED set up from Custom Dynamics and love them. I really like the way the clear bright outer ring comes on again when the orange signals go off. So much more visibility in the day time and more light at night. For plug and play, these jewels can't be beat and are worth every penny. I do suggest the clear lenses so they shine brighter and do what you would expect of them. Good luck.

I did the same, but i used smoke lenses. If they diminish the brightness its not enough to worry about. I have cd led brake lights with smoked lenses also and they work great.

Same here except I went with smoked lens. They are plenty bright and very quick and simple plug and play.

Has anyone added passing lamps and relocated the turn signals to the added passing lamp bar? If so send pics and parts info please.

Road King light bar works on FLRT. I bought an '02 Electra Glide Police light bar off Ebay. It came with the turn signals but I removed them. # 109 ( 4 pin)connector is located l/h side under tank in the caddy.R/Y wire is power,Blk is ground,Be/Gy, is BCM.Remove l/h signal light nacelle panel for the signal light connector(31A&B) which is a 6 place Tyco 70 multilock.Position 5&6( empty) are for Auxiliary lamp power.I just crimped pins onto wire and inserted them. The riser cover has two plastic plugs so you can mount a toggle switch. I cant post pics.

Freewheelers outside the US (EU & SA) are sold with running lights that also double as the headlight. The traditional 7” headlight is blanked out, I have no idea why.

Point is: HD makes the running light cluster for the FW. You can google the Harley Europe or Africa website to see these.

Last time I priced out those Euro lamps they were $236.00 for each bracket alone. They are not fog or running lamps but actual headlamps. All told I think it was like over $700.00.They do look cool though.
