Trike Talk Northeast 2016 Registration

If you take 81, make sure your towing vehicle is up to snuff because 81 is very hilly. Underpowered tow vehicle will make the trip a bit scary!
Rosy

So nice of you to offer Leo.....true Jersey hospitality and greatly appreciated....sounds good
..will stay in touch.....group that went from Maryland a few years ago have disbanded their riding group after several members moved out of the area...but you never know maybe some triketalk members that live close may go, I will keep checking the registration as time gets closer...
.

Don't forget the Florida gang coming up either, I am sure they would welcome trikes to travel with them.
If not, I won't buy Tom a rum bucket! LOL

Are you talking about that Ford that went north from Florida last year ??? Wait I think that was you!! But thanks for thinking about us.
I bought a new TK-1 trailer and a new Grand Cherokee Summit to pull it with, so I think Ill be OK.
BUT---Bruce is NOT going to take it out mudding and I don't care what he may tell you!! lol
Tom

Have you done your numbers?
Trailer weight..vehicle towing capacity...horsepower needed to tow..
Hitch capacity..bumper mount or frame mounted?
Anti sway cape ability.. Yes..no..
Electric brake hookup on your vehicle...Electric brake controller adjustments...
All the factors to tow safely with your new vehicle.
I hope all the answers are correct...You don't want your trailer to be doing the samba going down the road..it can drive your stomach up in your throat! LOL
I know you will hate me for this, because it will make you sit and think about it, maybe just a little!

I don't worry about any of that !! I've got you to do that for me!! lol

Tom

I learned last year, that doing the numbers does help.
My truck is underpowered, so, I had to be aware of all the hills and had to use my four way flashers at times because at the end of the hill, we were going well below the speed limit.
That's why I am crunching numbers again this year!

WHAT are you towing with 4 cylinder ranger any v8 truck should tow a motorcycle trailer at 70 mph all day long ? :xzqxz:

Road Dog, I have a small V-8, in my 1999 Ford F-150 and towing to Florida had its moments. Like I said, going up some of the hills we put our flashers on because of speed.
Yes, at times, when flat, tow great, but hills, you knew it was underpowered! LOL :AGGHH:
When the road was three or four lanes, no problem, but at two, not so much fun.
Rosy

Sure it is, but from NH to Georgia, there are some long hills that will suck the horsepower out of your truck!
& that was 95, not 81, which has more hills!

Rosy, this year you may be able to ride the trike both ways and save wear and tear on your truck..

Since the gathering is local, I'm going to save my vacation for road trips. I will stop by and maybe join in on a ride or two during the week. I will just need to get home and grab some zzzz so I can work each night.

Any chance Trikermary can hitch a ride up with you guys? Or are you heading in a different direction?
See you soon!
Rosy

Update in reserving a room:
When you call the Days Inn, please ask for the group reservation for Trike Talk. There is confusion at the motel reservation desk. The group is in another web page on their computer, so most of the time they don't look for it.
I will send the manager an email to explain people are having problems making reservations.
Thanks for your Patients!
Rosy

Looking forward to this event.ThumbUp
On another note, are you back north yet Rosy?
We REALLY need some of that southern warmth that you & Janice are bringing back, right about now!!!
