Hi
Wanted to change the transmission oil as it's the last job to do, anyway got the oil and the 17mm Hex ready to do the change and when I got underneath the trike the oil drain screw is directly above the exhaust collector box with not enough room for it to be removed without taking the exhaust off.
Has anyone encountered this and is there an easy way around it? Didn't want to remove the full exhaust system if I can help it but looks like there is no choice.

thank you

I haven't had that problem with any bike I have owned however I just bought an '05 V Star 1100. I was going thru the manual about changing oil and filters. On that bike you had to remove the exhaust to change them. Lucky for me, the previous owner put an oil filter relocation kit on the bike to prevent having to remove the exhaust.

Good luck!!

Hard to believe Rewaco designed the exhaust the way you describe, but if the nut & open end don't work as Rsw suggested, try an evac pump through the fill hole.
I'm thinking to myself that there might be a big mess draining the oil onto the exhaust, unless you have a large drain pan?
Anyhow, the pump method won't get every drop out, but it will get most...
