Well I just got my first trike. It's VW powered and needs a bunch of work but I'm ready. I haven't even ridden it yet. But I did get it started so that's a good start! Probably gonna have a lot of questions so please bear with me. I start with one now. Where is the best place or web site to get parts? Gonna need some lighting, front wheel axle, apolstry, hardware like hinges and latches for trunk. Forward controls, ( the last guy was real short), gauges, etc. I have never painted an automobile or bike before but I'm going to try and do it all myself.

That way I get more satisfaction out of the finished product.

Any tips, tricks,or things I may need or accessories that will make it pop let me know.
I havnt been this excited in a long long time!

Welcome to T/T BennyF.
There are many places to spend $$ on in assembling a VW powered trike.
If fact there so are many that have been great parts suppliers, that there are too many to list.
I'll list a few but in no way do they represent the views of anyone, anywhere, etc....

Good Luck & post pics if/when you can.

Those are mainly VW aftermarket parts suppliers.
For other things, mcmastercarr.com has lots of cool stuff for builders.
Motorcycle dealers for anything related to the motorcycle parts on the trike will be helpful, maybe!
You'll likely end up having to get some part or parts custom machined, so having a machine shop or good machinist nearby helps!
Don't get discouraged, it can be done!

Like said above....
The vw parts are available.
The rest of it can be difficult.
If it is a fiberglass bought kit you might get lucky and they are still in business for your hinges and latches.

The front axle.... well if you can identify what bike the front end came from.

Lots of these are pieced together out of whatever you can find.

You will probably be custom making some pieces.
