Rear Shocks

I will be changing all 4. The symptoms are the rear is flexing back and forth not to a point of being unsafe but you can feel that the shocks have lost a lot of their resistance in the rear. Front still seem fine but I would just as soon do them all.

Well I have changed out all 4 shocks (they are all the same part number 1452) and I'm very pleased with the ride. It took 1 1/2 hours to do all 4. The new shocks are different from the old ones in appearance. Well worth the money and time to change out. <br />

I just had my rear shocks replaced. After install I took it for a ride and it felt very stiff. The settings from TMS were two from the top. I had them readjusted to the top position and what a difference that made, so much softer. The problem I ran into was one of the shocks was very oily after my test run. TMS replaced it and all is good now. You guys that recently replaced yours might want to do a check.

Is there a brand name on the box or on the shock ? THANKS

Nope, just a part number and I'm pretty sure that is probably a TMS part number !! Anyway, all 4 are the same. I've got 2k on the new shocks and like the way they ride. Not sure when they got changed but they do look different form the ones I removed. I do believe that Ted had researched this a lot before he ordered his from TMS.

Mine is 2013 It has 28000 miles on it , not by me , it been to Alaska twice the rear rides real hard ? The shocks are on the second notch I don't no if I should just replace them Or not , you or Ted posted what you paid for them , I did not think was that bad ? THANKS

They are made by Progressive for TBMS. The big thing is they weld the connection point on one end off-set to clear the suspension mounting location. On the front you might be able to use a standard setup that would not have the off-set but on the rear NOT

Mine are also set on the 2nd setting from the top (front and rear). I normally run about 20psi in the air bags riding single and 25 to 30 when riding double and loaded with the luggage rack on trips.

I'm thinking about replacing the shocks on mine now. The symptom that Ted was describing the flexing back and forth is what I'm feeling in my Stallion. I first thought it was just the roads I was riding on but after my wife started asking what was going on, I knew it was time to do something. I went to the Progressive site and looked for the shocks with the part number Tomg listed but nothing showed. I sent a message to the company last night but haven't seen a return message. I going to give the company a couple of days and then call TMS to check on the shocks. I've not had very good luck with TMS lately, seems like everything I ask them about they haven't heard of that before or they don't stock that part anymore.

This is a update from the post I did this morning:

Progressive makes the shocks for the Stallion but they do not sell them to the public. I will call TMS tomorrow and get the new shocks ordered, hope they keep them in stock.

Ed yes they do. I ordered mine and had them in 3 days. I fully expect TBMS to tell you to go thru a dealer. They did me and Tom but Tom was able to go higher on the food chain at TBMS and ordered them direct. We both ended up paying the same price. If you need to go thru a dealer and do not know one, call R & R Trikes in Jasper Ga. 877-207-2170. Talk to Sandy tell her what you need and you would like them "Dropped Shipped" to your address. You can tell her Ted and Mary Jo from Key Largo said to contact her. She will hook you up.

Let us know how it works out.

What Did you pay ?

THANKS

That's what I paid this morning. I was surprised TBMS told me they could not sell to me but they gave me a dealer who could. I guess what really surprised me the most is the dealer they gave me was 25 miles from my house. Cypress Creek Motorsports ordered the shocks for me and had them shipped to my house. Shipping, tax and shocks came to $278.00
