15+ hours to get to Ocala, that should be a couple of days travel, I assume?
Traveled that route many times as we headed and came through Dallas from NM. It is a pretty ride, but long.
I would think if you traveled by trike you would extend you stays to maybe 3 days, much easier on your saddle with the extra day.
Are coming alone or with Friends?

Wow, Zook, I am glad that you posted this as a sticky... I was unaware of this until this morning, and Tom lives right here in Titusville. Will have to make sure to meet up with you Tom! Do you ever go to bike night Thursdays at Dogs'R'Us?
Now I will have to try and clear our schedule so that Sandi and I can head over to Ocala:wave4:

Mark, glad you saw the stickie and will be attending this event. You are going to enjoy Tom and the rest of the group, they are a whole lot of fun and all good people to know. Our groups are welcoming and inclusive, no matter where you are from or what you ride. We aren't clicky, snooty or mean-spirited like a lot of motorcycle clubs and have very few rules.

Well I just secured a place for our 2017 Snowbird Gathering. After talking with several who have attended in the past we decided to change the date and location and do something a little different. Location will be Ocala, Florida, date will be 5 March thru 9 March 2017. This will be right next to Bike Week for those who have wanted to have both events closer together so they could attend both.

The motel is the Quality Inn, 3434 S/W College Road. PH # 352-854-3200. It is just off of I 75 on the east side about 2 blocks on the right. Price will be $70 plus tax includes breakfast, heated pool and there are several places to eat in the area with I think about 4 that you can walk to within 3-5 minutes. The reservations are open now just mention that you are with the Snowbird group. More to follow as soon as we can get someone to put together a sign-in roster for us.

Hi Tom & others , I think everything sounds real good .Your suggestions , & Yammy's are all good ones , & as Clint44 said , it is close to Daytona , but not too close . We could still go to Ponce de Leon Springs & have pancakes .ThumbUp I know , we didn't make that ride last year , the wind was blowing so hard that morning ,I thought the camper was going to roll over . WE thought it would be best for us to use our weight and help hold the camper down by staying in it. Yes , I take my helmet off to all of you who made that ride .I give you three thumbs up. ThumbUp ThumbUp ThumbUp lol.

Cedar Key is a very nice ride , there is a video made in 2014 of it , I put on trike talk . There is a little town called Micanopy just off 441 , that maybe worth seeing while you are up that way . These are all good suggestion, & I know there will be many more good ones to pick from . Good luck , and thank you Tom .

Still hoping to make it Tom ,but still not doing very well after beeing back in the Hospital limited to 15-35 miles still but will try and meet up but dont know about road trips at this time. just the drive to Ocala will do me in for a couple of day's

Doc, as we spoke on the phone, you are more than welcome to join us in Ocala but, because of your health, I would only recommend you attempting that long of a ride if you were riding with others. It's a long way from home and/or help on the side of the road when riding solo. Your health and welfare is more important than taking a chance on a long ride away from home.

Well Rosy, I have notified the FHP and they will be stopping you to check for the "summer Air" in the tires and verify that all the cold air has been removed from the trailer. If not, you will be escorted back to the Florida border !!!

Looks like Jo Ann and I are going to be a day late meeting up with everyone, we're now planning on getting there Monday the 6th in the afternoon. Long story but short version, I'm in radiation therapy for prostate cancer right now, 5 days a week for 9 weeks. I was supposed to finish up on March 3 which is a Friday but yesterday due to a storm and high winds the power was out at the radiation center, add in an extra day and I'll finish up on Monday the 6th.

I hope this doesn't happen again as we are really looking forward to some down time and riding when this is all over.
