2017 Trike Talk Northeast Registration

As of today the hotel is again taking reservations over the phone, remember July 1st is the cut off date where they start taking reservations from the general public. It looks like there are at least 8 rooms spoken for out of 30 rooms available. Even if you reserve the room now, you can always cancel if something else is more pressing.

Good Saturday Morning,

As of earlier this week the hotel has the following rooms left:

3- with 2 queens

5 - kings with mountain views

7 - kings on second floor with balcony and Jacuzzi tub in room

I'm looking at different rides and include:

Cooperstown and baseball hall of fame - limited parking in town, may have to leave trikes in municiple parking lot and take shuttle to museum...tickets run from free to $23.00 and they did take AAA discounts.

Howe Caverns, the last time I was there I was in grade school...hours are limited during the week cost is $22.00 to $25.00 pp

Bethel Woods Museum the museum is located on the exact spot of the original Woodstock Music festival, museum has displays on the 60's and the festival and in the lower area has a visiting display that changes. The time we went there, they had Janis Joplins display with a lot of personal things, clothes, music she wrote, it was actually interesting. Prices run $13.00 and $15.00 pp

Rinebeck Aerodome never been there but looks interesting, a lot of old planes and also bikes and trucks. Prices run from $8.00 to $12.00 during the week and weekend prices with the air show are higher.

There are more places to go and see but with only two riding days we can't go everywhere. These are only suggestions for places to go and if no one wants to do this kind of a tour, we can ride only.

We stopped at a nice BBQ place that would make it real easy to handle our group. It's just about 50 miles one way with a big parking lot. Prices and the food are very good....

Please check out the web sites for the above places and let me know what you guys think...

I for one am sorry to hear that you will be unable to be part of our TT '17 Gathering in Maggie Valley. I greatly enjoyed your presence last year, and was looking forward to more of the same! May you be blessed over the Labor Day holiday in whatever you do, I will be one of the many looking forward to riding with you again in '18!

Chaplain Dave

Dave, I plan on being in Maggie Valley this year!! The event I won't be attending is the New England Gathering since I had already committed to my trip south.

Looking forward to seeing and riding with you soon!!

Dennis

Wife and I are thinking of heading over form the Midwest to enjoy those great roads

2 riders and 2 trikes

also doing Maggie Valley

Andrew, the chicken is to die for. I had a sampler plate with chicken, ribs, sliced pork and beef brisket, the chic=ken was the best I thought. I like baby back ribs cooked to where they fall off the bones. The ribs were OK but a friend had them too and loved them.

jonnyb looking forward to meeting you, save a few extra days if you have time for a trip up around Lake George as well.

Brooks BBQ is a favorite for us . It's about a 90 mile ride one way for us . We are attending a group ride going there next Tuesday June 27th for with several other GWRRA chapters for lunch. Keep in mind it can be quite busy with long lines on weekends.

I was there on a rainy Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago and there was a slight line but not bad....the waiter told us we could set up for a group in the open pavilion or if we go there on Friday, inside should be good.

I knew if I started talking about food it would perk you guys up!!! Definitely not short on good places to eat up there.

Check out this place, just a few miles from the hotel

Captains Inn Point Lookout

Been to lake George area a couple times when hog rally was in Ludlow

Have to leave Sunday for home as we leave again for Maggie Valley on Saturday

no luck with registration page either

I posted a link to the rgistration page but I can add you

if your not getting through,. The important thing is getting your reservation in with the hotel.

This Friday June 30th is the last day the will be held, after that the rooms are open to anyone. Get your reser ations in before the end of the week.

I picked up a package of maps that show all the good roads to ride. We will have a goodie bag for all trikes.

Registration page ????

Is that up to date. Seems like there a few missing.

I can't find if it not the one I'm looking at .

The hotel will hold the hotel reservations for us for three more days, after that they are opening the reservations for the general public who call. Rooms may still be available the week before the rally but it's best to get your reservation in as soon as possible.

Has anyone looked at the possible destinations in the area yet, looking for input so we can plan ahead and we are not standing around and if everyone wants to ride only that's OK too. I do hope everyone likes BBQ....

Just a reminder, today is the last day the hotel will be holding the rooms for us, starting tomorrow they will accept reservations from other groups or individuals.
