What Made You Join TrikeTalk Forum?

Well lets see.... When I first started thinking about buying a trike, I googled TRIKE, and luckily I found this sight ! I go on it every day. Some times several times a day. I have learned a lot, and met a lot of nice people. Everyone seems to want to help if you have any questions or concerns. I can see why this is the #1 Trike sight on the internet ThumbUp

This is the best site for all trike related questions and stories.

Like many others, Google was my friend, when we first started thinking about a trike I found this site and joined before we even got one. One of the things that drew me in was the diversity of subjects being covered even though I rode a Harley, there are many knowledgeable folks on here covering a lot of topics. As a plus, no flame wars, and a very civil attitude from everyone, we all like to ride and I think it shows in how the board is conducted.

Kudos to Papa Zook who did a lot of work to get this site running and set the groundwork for the absolute best Trike site on the web. ThumbUp

Discovered there wasn't much info out there about trikes. I knew more about the Freewheeler than the dealer. Did a Google search and came across this site after visiting several others. TRIKETALK was far and away the best organized, most informative, with the most genuine and helpful people. I continue to learn from this group and was especially glad to see the ENABLED RIDERS forum. Since I'm a right A/K amputee, it's great to get input from people in similar circumstances. Don't even bother going to other forums anymore.

February of 2008 I was lurking on the GWRRA trike forum. Someone mentioned there was a new site for trikes, so I looked it up. Thought it was a neat little forum, not many members. (Yet!) Joined up thinking as we have been triking since 1992 I might be able to help someone and hopefully learn something, too. This isn't a small forum anymore, (I am member # 101, the latest as this is written at 10:54 9/23/2016 is RimmaKet, #23998.)This place has grown to the friendliest, most informative and largest trike forum I know.

I had just bought the triglide and I was looking for info on trikes. I saw a post on the HD Forums that had a comment about TT. I am sure glad I looked TT up. I don't think I would of made it in the trike world without TT. Jim

@TGCarol: Thanks for the flowers, I have a good dictionary

The American and German people may have differences in our cultures but we both have the same love of two and three wheels,so that makes us all brothers and sisters in our hearts and souls.

This is the spirit of this community and one of the reasons why I like it so much ThumbUp

I'm really too old to remember and thought I'd better stay cause I'd never remember how to get back. Further I met Randy and his lovely bride at the Hannigan Anniversary bash last year and am glad I stayed. I read daily when at home. I belong to 2 others and Trike Talk is by far the most active and informative. I shall return if I can remember....HaHa. I hope to attend one of the future gatherings and meet some of you.
Ride Safe. Doc ThumbUp

Think back to the first time....you were surfing the web and we caught your eye. You checked us out and there was just something about us, yes? Was it our dashing good looks? Our brilliant sense of humor? Our endless cache of technical information? Or were you just bored one night and found the lights on? Maybe alchohol was involved....

OK seriously....what was it that you liked most about the forum that made you want to join?

oh...seriously? I was looking for a forum of builders who not only did custom trikes but also the store-bought models with the intent that there should be an excellent knowledge base.

....you can all stop laughing now.

While attending an event and watching my friend lay his bike over with his wife on board in the parking lot, I decided to have mine triked. While waiting on the work to be finished I researched trike operation and came across this wonderful site with a wealth of information. Now I am hooked on both.

This is what got me to Trike-Talk-

While laid up in bed for 6 months, I knew that, for touring, a Trike was in my future.

It did not take long on Google to see that TrikeTalk was where I would learn the most.

When I first joined, it was not as DK Custom Products, and I was not looking at Harley Trikes.

I spent quite a bit of time learning about VW Trikes, and more than a little time reading all I could about the Rewaco's.

In the end, Harley won out (probably because at DK Custom that is what we concentrate on)...BUT before I was even walking without a cane I had purchased a Dyna to convert into a Trike.

BUT, while I was still using a cane we test rode a Tri-Glide. I sold the Dyna, and the rest is history. :)

Trike Talk Rocks!

why I joined trike talk ?????

I had just put a champion kit on my gl1500se , and knew nothing about trikes and had only had my wing for 4 years. I was looking for some info on tires and other thing and found trike talk. when I ask a ? I got all kinds of good info on fixes or where to go to get the info. then Nov, 1 2013 or 14 Darlene and I made a gathering @ Kerrville. we had so much fun and meet so many nice people, so we are just hooked and will stay.

I went on a ride in Sept '14, with some buddies. I was riding a 2011 Ultra and when we left the hotel to head back on the last day it was 38*. I was leading the "slow group" back. At our first gas stop, 2.5 hrs, I was having a hard time holding the bike up. Arthritis and cold damp weather apparently don't mix. I was on my way down when a buddy grabbed the tour pak and held the bike up till I could get the stand down.

At that point I decided to look at other options. The next day I went to the Harley shop and the had just received "Fat Bottom Girl" a 2015 white and blue tri. It was love at first sight. I took a test ride and almost wrecked it. Brought it back after less than a mile. Hate at first ride.

I turned to the "Other Forum", which I was already a member of, for advice and basically learned about Trike Talk there, joined and found way more friendly given advice here. After much research, I did end up buying the tri and hated it for about 100 miles. Around then I started to relax and it became fun. And Love bloomed again.

I was trying to keep up with both forums when this guy named Zook PM'd me about becoming a moderator for TT. I explained I couldn't even spell moderator, but, I guess we could give it a try. To be honest with you guys, I'm not sure how much more I do as a moderator than as a member, but, I love this site and would do anything to continue to be a part of it. The people are wonderfully friendly and very helpful. It is a place you can bring your wife (if ya have one) even your kids (maybe not the Jungle :AGGHH:). I attribute this to the leadership and hard work of Zook (he's put together a great staff, present company excepted) and a pretty nifty collection of the sponsors. You couple this with the willingness of lots of members to share their experience and research and you have a winner.

I look forward to the day when I get the wing triked and can be back on three, but, two or three, I'll be here as long as you guys will have me.

Back in February of 2014, I had my 2wheeler converted by Mitchell Motorsports. Bad knees and hips put me on 3. A guy at Mitchell said there was a trike forum that might help with "my" personal conversation to a trike. Found TT and the information was great with things I needed to know. The rest is history and I have loved the help and, most of all, the new friends found on TT! Thank you, Randy, Marge and all my new trike friends! I plan to be a part of TT for a long, long time. I'm looking forward to the Texas Gathering and making even more friends, see ya in Kerrville!!

was a lurker for a time, here on trike talk. 1st time building a trike . had never ridden a trike, needless to say.... this place was a gold mine of info. so thanks to all of you for being here!! Larry

Had just purchased a brand new 2010 Yellow 1800 Gold Wing Motor Trike IRS in April of 2010, and was looking for a really good Trike Forum. I already belonged to several Motorcycle and Scooter Forums, and a Moderator/Administrator on two of Them. I found TRIKE TALK.com and was immediately hooked on all of the Great Info, and Members.

The Maggie Valley Rally was coming up in a few weeks and the Host Motel was booked. We found another, got a room, and went to the Rally. Randy/Bazooka and I talked there, and I came on as a Moderator. I Led Rides, Posted, Photographed, and Rode this Forum to death for many years until last year...Mitzie's knee replacement, Her Job change, both of Our Mom's deaths, and having to help look after Our remaining Fathers (and my Father's Business) have made drastic changes in Our Lifestyle and amount of time off.

After 46+ years of Trike, Motorcycle, and Scooter riding, we have had to turn to Bicycles and Recumbent Trikes for Our Sport/Hobby...I'm still here, and We Both miss being as active as we once were....may happen again someday...we will see...Super Big Thanks to ALL of the Great Friends I've made here...Best Trike Forum on the Internet...PERIOD...!!!!!!!!!!
