Can Am Spyders

OK, that was the first year for the 3 cylinder I believe. As you mentioned, I have been looking at the RT for a while now, haven't done the test ride, but looking at this week. After the GW RS, I gotta get past not having luggage space with no way to improve that on RT but a trailer, we're talking big coins here. That's gonna be a tough one even if the co- rider and I love the thing.

You don't have to get the expensive BRP trailer. There are others as good if not better. But I agree the lack of space is a tough one to swallow. Looks to me like they could improve that little matter a lot. Wasted space in the saddlebags and the trunk thing in front got smaller due to the radiators. That one though I can accept because it improved the heat issue so drastically. We went ahead and paid for the fix the 13's got on our 12 but they refused to do the one thing that would have truly helped, reverse the fans when stopped. And that would be a simple software change. They know it works but I guess since no 12's went up in smoke they don't care just how hot they get. At least all that's corrected in the 14's and up.

Not sure how much truck space you are looking for but the Frunk and rear trunk are deep. The side bags are ok for space..

It will take some getting use to driving the inverted trike tho..I came from the rear trike to the inverted myself. But the ride quality over rode everything else and I really like the Semi automatic shifting..:D

You don't need a fancy trailer as posted above if you need one??

That new 3 cylinder is a nice engine. Reaching 18k on mine now..No problems with it.

My GW RS I have a rear rack that just slides into the receiver, then put the waterproof luggage bag on that rack, and then the tour pack rack for a small, hi viz, waterproof bag. That system, in addition to the RS luggage space, takes me away from the dreaded trailer program and more than enough for a week, or more travel for two. Making a transition to a Spyder RT is gonna be a challenge for luggage, I know that going in. Just have to weigh the pros and cons after a test ride or two.

You can do almost the same on the Spyder..Some make a cargo rack for the hitch area. DocHumpreys makes a large rack that works on the receiver..I haven't really looked how it mounts..

I am not a fan of a luggage rack on the rear trunk tho..

Cool, do you have a link for Doc? I like to take a look. I understand your comment about the luggage rack on the tour pack, but on my GW, I keep it light enough so there's no danger of cracking the lid.
