RT Spyder stuck in reverse

Has anyone else had this happen? I came in from a short ride and I noticed it wasn't shifting like normal. I pulled it onto some ramps so I could take a look. It was in 1st gear when I tried to shift and the foot lever would not move. I pushed the button for reverse and it went into reverse. After backing down off the ramps I found that it would not move out of reverse gear. Still stuck in reverse.

When was the last time you checked the oil level. These things do not work well on low oil level and the transmission is the first to show signs. Once cooled down it "might" shift back to neutral but I'd want to know what that dipstick shows. I suspect you are low on oil. That's the only thing I can think of right now. I might also try shifting and doing a little throttle manipulation at the same time.

Oil is fine. Tri d rocking it, no success.

Semi auto I am guessing ?

You may have a bad paddle switch or the solenoid that shifts it into gear.
any thing showing on the dash like a fault or code?

Try hitting the paddle a bunch of times and see what happens :AGGHH:

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. I have a manuL transmission, no paddles. It was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis. Hate that because they keep them so long. Will fine out Friday what they think it is.

what year was your RT?

wondering if your shifter came off the splines?

I had the spines on the main shaft strip [08 Spyder] and take out the front sprocket also, It would still shift but not transmit any power to the rear sprocket...
Dead in the water so to speak, And an engine tear down...:gah:

Never thought I'd see the day but it would appear I'm seeing more reasons to stick with the semi-auto for my wife. But I WAS considering a manual for me when I give up a finally go three.

If the clamp is not checked or tightened enough they get loose and screw up the splines..
Harley Shifters were notorious for that too.

HAd to make sure there was Loctite applied and tighten the clamp bolt really good

:Agree: Any thing that uses a spine and a clamshell tightening clamp will if not checked will loosen and can strip the spine groves..Most ATC-ATV'S the clamp is a softer metal [Sacrificial] so the shaft won't strip, Changed many of those clamps over the years..

If it is anything like when ever i had to bring in my [ex] Spyder its too soon time wise for the dealer to fix it..And if its a warranty repair it''ll take a few weeks for BRP to ok the repair...
