Had fun there last year.
Will make it this year if I'm still kickin' :xzqxz:

Just out of curiosity, how many attendees approx. were there last year?

Has an itinerary of events been developed yet? :)

I'm trying to encourage others about this event.

Osage Beach Park is a good RV park, and it is near all the activities. There are several others in the immediate area. :clapping:

Is there a schedule of events or just hang out ? More info needed ,registration fees, happenings, rides.????? TIA

Below is the tentative schedule of events from last year. There were a few things moved during the event but we kept pretty close to this. As mentioned, any ideas or proposed changes are welcome. We had 2 good rides last year - one to a great restaurant at the north end of Lake of the Ozarks led by Tom (Bullet 10 I believe) from the area, and another led by me. Got very lucky on that one - I got on the GPS and picked a route that looked interesting. Worked out well, but I would rather have someone that knows the area lead a ride.

We have some planning going on, so this is a very tentative, and subject to change, revision and suggestions, event list:

Sunday: Folks are arriving, this is a time to meet and greet, unwind from the trip, get settled in and maybe do a bit of exploring the area.

Monday: Many folks may be still arriving, so Maybe a short few hour group ride. Self guided riding, shopping?

Tuesday: Trike games in the mid morning - such as Blind Slalom, Joust, Stop On A Dime, Road Kill Pick Up, Cone and Ball Place and Pick, and others. Any ideas will be welcome. (There will be prizes.) Possible an organized or disorganized ride in the afternoon.

Wednesday: Group ride. Possibly start out in the mid morning and have a lunch stop. Or start right after lunch and have s destination ride. We are hoping to keep organized rides in the 4 - 5 hour maximum range. Hot Dog and Hamburger cookout for supper that night.

Thursday: Last day of Reunion: Ride, maybe have the official cookout Thursday instead of Wednesday, Last day/evening of getting together for story swapping, B.S., telling lies, etc.

Any suggestions on events, places to ride, things to do and see are welcome, just let me (Ozarkryder) or Tom (Trikeleader) know. This is all of our gathering, we want to make it as all inclusive as possible.

I've slept since last gathering, and can't remember the exact order of events from last gathering, but a lot of it changed on the fly, mostly because of the heat we had last summer. Tom (Trikeleader) - anything to add?

About 30 trikes and 45-50 attendees is my best guess. Tentative agenda is above.

*Sigh*

I sent this PM to Tom, aka Trikeleader, a co conspirator with me for the Mid America Gathering:

Iffy at Mid-America gathering.

Thought I had better let you know I am not sure I will be attending the Mid-America Gathering.

My brother-in-law has stage 4 lung cancer that metastasized to the liver. He has gone through chemo at the Mayo Clinic (they live about 30 minutes from Rochester, MN) , and went on to palliative care. He is now on a trial for an experimental treatment at Mayo. The doctors say the new trial treatment could do well, do nothing or make him worse. They are focusing on quality of life, not longevity. The doctors didn't give a timeframe, but my sister asked me not to make plans through the summer can't be changed quickly. We are hoping on a good outcome, but realizing that may not be the case and we may have to go up north anytime in the next few months.

We talked on the phone, some serious thought ensued. A few things - Tom not doing a gathering on his own, not sure I'd be there (actually a good chance I will have other commitments relating to above for the next few months) and, according to the host hotel, very few rooms have been reserved. There is less than a month to the deadline to get the reduced price, and at this rate there is no way to make the minimum bookings. With all this, we reluctantly decided to tentatively postpone the Mid-America Gathering until 2018. If anyone has any ideas for a Gathering place in 2018 (we were planning on moving around the area every 2 years to keep things interesting) places to see, eat, ride and greet it would be great to hear from you, or even join in the planning.

Again, Tom and I did not take this action lightly, and we're sorry for any inconvenience to anyone.
