Bumpus HD of Collierville, TN still works on older bikes

I was at the Harley-Davidson Dealership in Collierville, TN yesterday.

Was really surprised to see they are working on Ironheads, Shovels and Pans still.

Here's a photo of Burr, their Mechanic (not a "tech"), he specializes in working on the older Iron.

Kudo's to them for taking care of ALL HD owners, not just the newer models.

Also got a couple of shots of a brand new M8 Street Glide, under the knife.

Good to see that a HD Dealer still has someone that can work on the old iron. Around the Houston area none of them still do to my knowledge. Last time I had a top end done on my '79 Shovel I had Jim's Cycle Shop in Axtel, Texas do it. Unfortunately their mechanic that worked on the old iron quit. Next time I need a top end job I may have to do it myself or find another indy shop that can do it.

Great to see one decent HD dealer out there. Jan 2004 was the last time any dealer worked on an old HD of mine. Was riding back up from Ft. Myers, FL on a '77 FLH. Straight. It was 16'F and my chain wasn't feeling that great. Didn't want to chance going through NYC. I was carrying a spare chain. But was to tired and cold to want to do it outside myself. Stopped in DE, right before NJ. Watched through window as it took 3 techs to figure out how to change and adjust. Just don't ask how many HD techs it takes to change a light bulb.
