Lost the left rear side cover on my pearl white 96se last night.
Went out this morning and in the car and back traced my whole ride trying to find it,no luck.
Called hondadirect in Ohio to see if I could get a new one, with emplems 263 dollars if they can get one should know tuseday if they can get one.
The trouble is it maybe my own fault, when Carolyn was alive because of her short legs I always kept the passenger foot rest up in the high position plus she had kuryakyn transforme foot rest which made the bottom third of the cover coverd so the cover could not come off, well I took the cover off the other day to clean it onboth sides to do so you have to push the foot rest down to it,s lower position, when I put the cover back on I forgot to raise the foot rest, dumb me,and ontop of that it was real windy last night, bye bye cover.

Well I wish you had read my post about loosing the cover. I lost mine last year . With all the graphics on it . i saw it get run over by 2 cars. I picked up the pieces and put it back together . I took it to a body show they painted it to match . I then went back to the artist and had him match the graphics. Now (and this is the important part ) I urge all 1500 owners to drill a hole in the frame and tap it for 1/4 -20 threaded rod about 3" long , Drill a matching hole in the side cover .Put it on with the rod going through the hole and attach it with a nice shinny acorn nut. Need pictures let me know. I could have saved you $235.00.

If I didn't find mine it would have been $395 only cost me $200

That would have been fine the only problem is I did not see mine come off as it was dark out and did not notice it till I got home whent back this morning and retraced my ride but could not find it.
Will cost 263 dollars for a new one including the employmens if it is avaible.
wish I could have found it.
Well you know what they say s$$$ happens.
:(:(:(:(

Google rudy's back yard He makes what he calls keeper kits for panels & they are very inexpensive He is a goldwinger. But his kits will work on any brand. I think it is around $65.00 for a full kit or you can buy just certain ones.:D

I met Rudy on another forum, and in person on a ride. Super nice guy. He also makes a battery "SmartLite". Keeps you abreast of battery problems. jimsjinx:yes:

You may be able to purchase a replacement side cover from Used Motorcycle & ATV Parts, Tifton GA or HONDA GOLDWING PARTS GL1200 GL1100 GL1500 USED GOLDWING PARTS ASPENCADE INTERSTATE LTD SEI SE 1980 1981 1982 1983 1984
To keep from loosing the side covers on your Wing, replace any damaged or missing grommets and put a little oil on the pins and grommet to make them slide easier and the grommet isn't dry. It actually holds better.
I purchase a battery monitor for a reputable company. I don't buy from people who post on the internet with home based businesses got burned by one of those crooks and I learned a valuable lesson from it. I know it's a rough economy, it doesn't matter how nice a person is they're in business to make money. Just because a persons a 'Goldwinger' doesn't make him a 'Saint', there was a guy in Palm Harbor/Tarpon Springs who was selling Goldwing parts and accessories who was the biggest crook in the area.
Folks it's not 'Rocket Science' to make a tether to keep the parts of your Goldwing from coming off.

There is a diffrencein the emblems depending on the year and modle.
Wanted to make sure it had the right emblems.
A little expenseve for a pice of plastic, but what the heck it is only money, I probley spend more money then that in a couple of months on cigarets.
I know I should give the darn things up.

Maybe if you would research some one before you go slamming them you would't have such an attitude. Rudy does have a very good reputation with his products . There I've said my piece

A friend of mine has a home business selling Battery monitors ( sort of an idiot light . It goes on when battery goes below 12V) anyway he is as honest as the day is long. i highly recommend you have some sort of a monitor system on your bike or trike . It saved my bacon more than once . best $25.00 I spent in a long time
