Picked up my 05 wing with 09 MT kit on Sat. As I had said in a previous post this is my first Motor anything and I was a bit nervous about riding it home. After some serviceing (oil, front breaks etc.) and a little around town riding I was off. With my wife watching my 6 oclock in our car I started the 105 mile trip home on US 80. Guess what......everything I've read here proved true. After 15 or 20 miles I started to relax my body and grip on the bars set that puppy on cruse control and became one with the trike. It was a pleasure to drive. We had intended to stop every so often to make sure I was OK, but I was haveing so much fun I kept waveing her off and we drove straight through. No bugs on teeth but I did have a hard to remove **** eating grin for a while. Wifey said I looked like a CHP officer.

I noticed that the previous owner hadn't opted for the optional rear speakers. I'd like to add them. Any advice? Should I just have Honda do it. Are there less costly options? Any thoughts on cost?
Can't wait to build up experence and start taking longer trips with mamma. Thanks for all the prior advice and encouragement.......Alan

How exciting for you! I remember well the evening I followed ScalpHunter home up IH35from the dealer in Austin - we'd just traded both Harleys in on a new GW1800 CSC, and I was hauling the trailer home. He waved me off a couple of times, too, and he loved every minute.
Customizing your ride is a big part of the enjoyment, so have a ball!
Good to have you among us!

Best place to get speakers is sierrea electronics in troy ohio, and also they will tell you how to install them.
Go to their web site and get their 1-800 number.

What a great first ride!!!!! Thanks for letting us know about it. It made me grin just to read along

Serriea is the place to go. The rear speakers are simple, the wires should already be there, just remove the grill, and plug the speakers in. 4 screws, 2 minutes.

Also make sure they are not just turned off, there is a fader knob to adjust speakers front to back, the previous owner may have the reas off.

That being said, if you are a music person, you may want to UPGRADE the speakers anyway The honda line are only 15w, Serriea are 90w. The fronts are a bit of work, on my 1500 you have to pull the dash, but to pull the dash you have to remove seat, remove the center etc, etc, etc. It the kind of job you do when changin you air filter, of working ont he radio or CB.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rear speakers make a big difference. Get good ones.

Fantastic! Now that you are back down to earth, let me remind you of a couple things. BE CAREFUL! And Lastly, BE CAREFUL!! I had my wife follow me home, and she said she was scared to death for me, cause I kept letting my left rear fender drift on or over the centerline. I was used to riding a 2 wheeler! Also, the trike I bought was used, and had a deep gouge in the left fender, at the rearmost corner. Proof positive that some one other than me forgot about the extra width! Looked like he hit one of those steel posts around the gas pumps. Other than that stuff, HAVE A BLAST!!! Thanks for sharing the ride home, too. It brought back good memories. God bless you and yours with thousands of safe, happy miles! jimsjinx PS.... it really didn't happen, without pictures!!!LOL
