    Default What levels a California Side Car Viper?

    I just purchased a 2012 GW1800 CSC Viper Trike. I'm still learning about it as you can tell. Our 2006 GW1800 Motor Trike required additional air to be added in the airbags for a passenger or increased load. Does the CSC Viper require leveling if so how?

    on your recent purchase.

    If you contact CSC directly, their customer service department is the absolutely the best and friendliest on answering any questions that you may have.

    David, thank you for the info. I tried CSC before making this post. Today was just a busy day and not representative of their customer service. If I not get an answer I'll call them back.

    Bill:

    As was mentioned it is best to get the info direct from CSC. This is what I was told by my CSC installer:

    There is a suspension setting that is set when the CSC kit is installed that accounts for the weight of passengers the trike will be carrying most of the time. In our case I gave them the combined weight of myself and my wife and they set the suspension accordingly during assembly. I'm told this setting cannot be adjusted again without taking the trike apart--a very costly, time-consuming process.

    Then of course there is the adjustable pre-load that CSC utilizes from the stock 2-wheel suspension. This can be used to stiffen the suspension when carrying extra weight above and beyond what the primary suspension setting was set to. I'm not sure--I've never tested it--but I don't think the pre-load will raise the trike any. But I could be wrong on that.

    So we ride at 0 pre-load most of the time because we've got the correct suspension setting from assembly. The trike rides well and handles like a slot car--no pitch or lean in the curves. When we hook up a trailer we add a little pre-load--usually 5-7 on the 1-25 scale.

    You are correct according to Will at CSC. I called today and spoke with him regarding the aforementioned. He told me about the pre-load and how to use it. I also inquired about lifting the rear of the cycle with a floor jack and he told me there is an aluminum plate on the differential which is for that very purpose. Very friendly and informative. Thanks to CSC, I think I've made a wise purchase.

    I've spoke with Will several times. Excellent customer support from him. Always willing to help as I'm sure the entire staff at CSC is. Talking on phone with a couple different employees I've always felt like they knew me personally

    Default re csc suspension

    there are actually weight adjustments from 100 to 800 lb of load depending on which spring you have.The adj.can be made with a special spanner,as long as you don't have the aux. fuel tank.With it installed it becomes a chore.
