Butch,

John and myself are in Torrington, Ct., not far south of you. When are you heading back to Florida, maybe we can do a meet up for dinner with Ronnie and a few other people. I am almost retired and will be in St Pete during the winter hopefully, I have family in Englewood, not far from your Florida home.

We leave the first week or two in Oct. depending on the weather. Meet up sounds great. We have a group in Florida that rides every Wed night. We go to Englewood often. Fauls Inn is a favorite stop. Eastkytiker on this forum spends his winter in Port Charlotte also.

My biggest complaint was the weather.....Dame Thursday -Sunny

Friday -Sunny

Saturday - Very Sunny

Sunday's ride home, wouldn't you know it - very Sunny

Why can't that hotel, offer us a crummy yecky rainy day like the rest of the hotels that we always go too.



Other then "that" I found the hotel actually very nice, open bar for an hour a night, drinks at the end of each meal.. O' yea a nice clean, well taken care of swimming pool, along with a nice hot jacuzzi....

I was very happy...Dame I do hate a sunny day when I'm riding motorcycles.........

The staff treated us very nicely, they also allowed us to park our trikes right in front of our rooms

I'm glad we are not up there now. I would be spending a lot of time in the pools. Over 95 yesterday 92 today. I don't ride in temp above 88 deg ( actually 85 is my ideal hot ride ) I prefer 70s ( I had brake trouble up ther found I had no rear brake). I bleed the brakes and now very good pedal.. It led to some very exciting moments. Cheek puckers ( especially when a guy tried to push me off the road because he was in the wrong turn lane ) On the way home I lost my trailer connector. Had no rear lights for 100 miles. I still ( WE ) had a great time. I still think the best rally yet. Doug did an outstanding job. This definitely blew away the last 3 rallies by a NY mile ..

Patty and I met a great bunch of people . We had a good time. Service was outstanding. Good riding in the area. Prizes were Great. Especially the 1st place trophy that I won. The chanches for the tools and drone was unexpected but we'll appreciated . I will also be flying high with the drone since we were the first number dawn. Thanks to everybody that put so much work and planning into a perfect weekend.

Hotel Suggestion

First off, THANK YOU SO MUCH TO DOUG AND JOHN FOR PUTTING THIS LAST RALLY TOGETHER!

I have put a few of these together myself and it is a difficult and thankless job!

that said, I think we had a fantastic value for our money!

the rooms were adequate, two pools and hot tubs, a bar, and other activities. Plus the bikes were easily accessed right outside our door. And great breakfasts and dinners! Attentive owners and waitstaff.

I know there is discussion whether or not having a meal included is a good idea. However I will offer these thoughts. At this time of the year it’s starting to get dark early, especially in the mountains. By the time dinner was served at six or 630 we were done riding. It was nice to get off the bike and have a terrific meal waiting. No discussion about where to go and who wants what, or riding in the dark after having a drink (or not) while dodging deer in an unfamiliar area. Factor in potential rain on top of it and this set up at the Acra was a no brainer!

it was terrific to meet some new people and see old friends again. What can I say, we enjoyed ourselves immensely!

suggestions...yes, the WiFi was lacking sometimes. That could be improved.

the dinner tables should be moved together and people mix up seating to get a chance to chat with others.

we need to have an idea of the area before we visit so we make suggestions for rides. Not fair to put that on Doug and John all the time.

Doug and John did a great job! Loved the rides and the trip down the Hudson on the M/V Rip van Winkle.

I’m in for next year! Same bat channel, same bat time, Robin.

Thanks Cath, I don't mind leading the rides, just like to get input of where everyone wants to go, majority rules. What I can afford for extra activities the next person may not. Its going to be interesting to hear your comparison of the Thompson House in a few weeks.

I agree 100%. I felt the same thing. The seperate table was a drawback .. Mix or atleast close enough to converse...

Rides in the area good idea. ( I did love the boat ride except for the one tippy spot ) got to say I was almost tempted to go on the GoKart adventure ) I have not done karaoke in years.

Lets keep this active the rest of the year. Ideas pop up. I hope a few that missed this year think about joining us next year. Let's see what happens.

We have 4 or 5 mo to decide if we are going to do NETT rally next year.
