We currently ride an 08 GL1800 RS Trike, just read the forums that discuss pros / cons of installing a Fork Tube Brace. Based on what I have read that will be my first upgrade starting this spring. Previous to this I have placed several orders thru CycleMax and have great experiences dealing w/ them, but want to ask if anyone has purchased a Gen Two Brace through CycleMax and how it worked? Appreciate any feedback...... RIDE SAFE ALL! THX H.

A fork brace will structurally support the fork tubes when they are stressed hitting bumps and turning.

The fork brace in conjunction with the axle and lower fork clamp (triple tree) keeps deflection at a minimum and reduces wear on the fork seals when properly serviced.

There are those that may disagree with the benefits of a fork brace just as they might also disagree with the benefits of synthetic oil.

I use to be one of those guys that doubted the benefits of a fork brace. Several years ago there was a thread here on TT with a few guys who's suggestions I took to heart. I ordered a MLB 1803S kit and installed it on my '06 GL1800 with '10 MotorTrike Adventure conversion. From the first ride I knew my faith in these guys was not misplaced! What I experienced was two very dramatic improvements. First my riding position was corrected so I was pushing out instead of down while steering which made the process easier. The other change was the confident planted feeling the fork brace brought to the front end.

I rode that trike over 50K miles and when it was sold and the '15 took it's place another MLB 1803s was among the initial accessory list. Hutch you will not regret the brace. I don't know what a gen 2 brace is so can't speak to that point. What I can say is the only brace I'd have is one that provides lateral adjustment. If you force the fork tubes to conform to an unnatural position using a fixed brace it will cause premature internal ware. How it would effect handling would be a guess so I won't go there. MLB fork braces are absolutely "Top Shelf". :xszpv: :xszpv:

Yep! As G/Rush, mentioned I have one on my 02 wing, and now it's on my 2010...Yes, I like the way it feels, stronger front end! 4 sure!

As has been mentioned by other, a fork brace is a good investment. I have a SuperBrace on my '06 Trike that was previously on my '02 2 wheeler...

Also, I can't say enough good things about the MLB risers.....I also transferred them from my 2 wheeler. The slight change was enough to make me ride pain free. 2 thumbs up.

Where would I find that MLB 1800 kit?

MBL Innovations is what I finally came up with on a google search, as opposed to MLB. Their website shows the handlebar riser kit number Jerry referenced but I could not find the fork brace kit.

There is a phone number listed on that website..you might give them a call.

Thank You Carla!!!! I obviously had my brain locked onto handlebar riser brand and even then got that wrong.... Sorry for any misleading I may have caused.

HUTCH I apologize for the confusion. The Gen 2 you mentioned are the Kuryakan fork brace that I have on my trike. They do have the lateral adjustment I referred to. You will love them!!!:xszpv::xszpv:

Many THX Goldrush and to all of you for your great responses, guidance, and information. Already have the Kury Gen 2 on order from Cyclemax. Should be a BIG improvement, can't wait to ride again. A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!
