I'm installing the adjustable riders backrest (Part # 52596-09A) on a 2015 Tri glide. The rear of the mount bolts in ok but there is a 5/16" gap between the mount and frame on the front. I can use spacers and longer bolts but was wondering if this is common to the tri glide. The tri glide is not listed on the fitment list. Also, I'm replacing an after market backrest/mount that was already on the bike when I took ownership which may have something to do with the problem that I am having.

Thanks for you feedback.

Since I posted this I have been doing some research. It looks like the adjustable rider backrest for the tri glide has a different part # (54099-10). I compared all the part numbers and there is only one difference. The front mount bracket has a different part number. It is probably a little taller allowing it to make contact with the frame on the tri glide. I have placed an order for that piece and will find out if it works in a few days (or week or so).

Are you talking about the L-shaped bracket from frame to mount?

I did just what you mention here, Went to the hardware store and got 2 bolts that were longer and some larger nuts to use as spacers. I have had them on for 7 years and now trouble. Cost was less than $5. It beat the $100 that Harley wanted for a new bracket for the back rest.

Thanks. You can order the front l-shaped bracket (PN # 83990-10). It's $9.75 from Broadtracker. Not too bad if you can get it shipped with another order.
