Hello all, my name is Michelle. Though I am not a snowbird, I live in Florida full time, I wanted to put an FYI out about a new annual event that will be happening in the Daytona/Ormond area. Bruce Rossmeyer Harley-Davidson Destination Daytona will be holding their first annual trike Fest September 14th 15th 16th 2018. Though this is not organized by the city like bike week and biketoberfest, they are wanting this to be an annual third event for the area.

I do attend bike week and biketoberfest events however this is pretty exciting for me that this will be geared towards trikes! They are in the planning stages right now, but I figured I would put this heads up out there for you all since it seems you plan a yearly gathering in Florida so this may be a location you would consider or an event you would be interested in attending in addition to your yearly Florida Gathering.

They have the event posted on their Facebook page and I'm sure you can also check their website for information as time gets closer.

Although September is a ways off, I’m sure area trikers will put the event on there calender.

Thanks for the info Michelle. :clapping:

That is good info but I suggest that you start a new post for the Destination Daytona First Annual Trike Fest. This is completely different from the Snowbird Get Together and should have it's own spot for events. Maybe Randy will see this and separate the 2 events. Tomg

Cool beans, thanks Michelle. That's right after the Trike Ride In at Maggie Valley, now I'm torn. Destination Daytona at Harley, this should be good, not that I'm a HD fan, but these folks are not afraid spend a few dollars, gotta give 'em credit.

Wishing it was in October when we get there !

We never do Daytona even tho it is within our reach...instead we do Thunder Beach....that being said we will be doing this event and if all goes well will be doing it every year...

I’m heading over. We’re keeping our eye on the weather though. At the moment it’s really dry and the forecast predicts more sun and dry weather. Stay away Florence.

3 of us rode in about 10am Friday to a great big NOTHING! There were 2 vendors setting up, 1 was a suspension after market and the other was a trinket vendor. HD was just putting their trike out under a canopy. Even the salesperson (under their breath) said all the setup should have been done already ! We left about 12:15 and there were only about 10-12 trikes there including our 3!! Worst event I've ever seen at a HD sponsored event!! Tomg

Ever stop to think maybe the storm scared people off. I know I would not ride through that one to get there. Not everyone lives as close as you do

Sure did think of that! The point I really was making was the poor set up by the dealership. There are thousands of trike here in Florida. Heat was more of an issue than rain or threat of the hurricane/storm.

Since I have my honey do list done I may ride down in the morning for lunch and check it out

I really hate Rossmeyers, been kicked out once:p

WoW! now I'm "kinda" glad that I didn't ride in from Massachusetts............

That would of been a four day ride, plus hotel bills, food, gas and wear & tear...........( I really wanted to go though)

Saturday

I went up there at noon today. Got there and looked around...what trikes? There were more trikes for sale at the dealer then there were in the parking lot. There were probably 30-50 total trikes there between 12-and 2, and around the same amount of 2 wheelers...a normal Saturday afternoon at Destination Daytona. Looked at the 6 vendors there...I wasn't impressed. Asked an employee about the trike show, he said "I have no clue as to what is going on, nobody told us anything about classes or show". Followed the girl carrying the box of trophies around over to the actual trike show...3 trikes entered, one of them was a well done big wheel Frankenstein, an old VW, and a stock triglide. Should have entered mine, I would have won a trophy by default. Had a cold beer and rode back home instead. There were more bikes and trikes on Main Street at the bars then there where at the "Trikefest".
