My 99 Goldwing lehman trike using progressive air shocks are leaking oil and I do not know what model it is or does any one know the correct repair kit for this shock. Might be a standard model, but I have no data on this part.

thanks

Bill, The shock listed and used by Lehman is a Progressive 416 air shock. This is usually a SPECIAL ORDER part. The shock is 12.75" center-to-center. Progressive # 416-1633GLA retails for $499.00.

Looking through my paper work I found a listing for shock rebuild services, I don't know that they still offer that. Chances are the upper and lower mount bushings are shot in yours anyways.

progressive air shocks

Bill, What did you find out ??????:Shrug:

Well I called them and Got someone was ok but no orderly friendly. I did order a repair seal kit from Progressive direct. But there is no confirmation # or E-mail reply. I did finally get to talk to the guy who ordered them, as he did not give his name at the end. But the seal are like 36.00 for two.

But they say they do not have them in stock, will take several weeks to get? Where do they make up their production items?

So anyway, there is still snow on the ground, I have time to wait. I do not want to buy all new if a seal kit works. There is a nice way of doing repair on U-tube, for generally any type of air shock.

So when the arrive I will post picture of parts?

:)

Best regards;

Bill

Seams to me that I've read several places that Progressive used Honda seals in the 416 shocks.
Yep, same seals were used.

Got my attention.

Due to Progressive Suspension discontinuing the 416s, I have obtained two sets of seals to just "have on hand" using the numbers 30-5041 in my Google searches… packaging was bubble wrapped, original Progressive cardboards, both have part numbers 30-5041 and 76-5041 on them. I suspect that the 30-5041 number likely was Progressive's number, & that the 76-5041 was maybe that dealer or distributor's stocking number … or maybe the numbers have changed? In casual looking through notes, I ran across this thread link & thought I would include the info. 30-5041 appears on the back and one set's label says job #806018 printed 06/29/18 … the other says job #813352 printed 11/13/18.

Each seal set has two large seals for bottom of can & a few O-rings for top of can as well as a printed instructions sheet. The 416s are no longer made as I understand it, if you have a set, a seal set on a hook in the shop would be a good idea I think, better "to have and never need" than "to need and never have" them. The "shock body" is a sealed cartridge and not serviced, you are just servicing the air chamber or can … to cure air leaks.

As to the polyurethane upper & lower bushings in the shock eyes, mine still look good, but good chance they are still made & used even in regular coil overs, not just 416s. If not available from Progressive Suspension, a check against size charts (once known) for Energy Suspension might get you some.
