Motor Trike Kit

Hello George and welcome.

I have a 2010 Road King with a MotorTrike Gladiator conversion, and I couldn't be happier. Rides smooth, much smoother than it did as a 2-wheeler. And tracks thru the curves faster than I care to go. The adjust-on-the-fly air ride suspension makes it a button-push away for whatever road comes along.

I chose the MotorTrike conversion based on the suspension design and also I don't care for the longer wheelbase of some of the others.

Respects,

Ed

thank you

I appreciate the reply, hope to get mine done very soon.

Welcome George. I would give Roadsmith a hard look before you commit to Motor Trike. The trailing arm suspension makes for a great ride and their progressive shock/coil spring setup is in my opinion superior to Motor Trikes proprietary air bag system which is notorious for leaking and failing which will require an expensive replacement with the same. There are numerous threads on the forum discussing this.

thanks

Thank you, I will check into Roadsmith,

Hello and glad you ask.

I have a 2012 Ultra Classic Electra Glide, had the Gladiator kit installed in early 2013 and have not had any issues. I selected the Motor Trike conversion for a few reasons. 1) I like the features it offered. 2) I live in Texas and the factory is in Texas so should a problem arise I can take it straight to them. 3) We had an opportunity to ride several other conversions as we ride 2-up 98% of the time and the Motor Trike seemed to handle the load the best from our butt test.

The down side came in the fact that there was not an option for a secondary fuel tank but we chose to make that sacrifice as we are not iron butt riders.

Of late we added a Rampage Trike lift to our truck and found that due to the shorter length of the Motor Trike conversion our Ultra works perfectly in an 8’foot bed so that we can take our camper along and make very tight corners with no danger to the trike or camper.
