Having trouble with MotorTrike Razor parts availability

Hello to all, I usually don't have this kinda issue but it seems i just found my first big problem with MotorTrike Inc. and that being said well here is my dilemma. I was helping a customer of mine with most all of his repair needs until last month and by the way its on going right now, I went to my customers home due to this issue. His new purchase of a used trike (Goldwing Razor conversion 3379 ) well apparently snapped.

Yeah thats right snapped and basically i have been dealing with Richard over at MotorTrike Inc to help out but he is just ignoring me now. Well what i saw I couldn’t believe but its seems it has never happened between all the shops ive asked and from the manufacturer i can't even find a replacement driveshaft and its the new redesigned driveshaft too. The green yolk not blue and it has a 3379 kit, strange thing is i have not seen or come across anything like this.

I would think MotorTrike would be more helpful other than directing me to local dealers, which also do not have and they would have to special order it like I would and charge me something crazy when i am even available to go and pick up my self. Angry, Frustrated and Disappointed shop foreman.

I tried attaching photos but the upload does seem to do anything. just watching spinning icon after i click upload button.

Can't help with drive shaft but the picture thing set camera on VGA save to pictures on computer and use the little stretched Icon in second row of icons. may help. Fred Welcome to the forum

Joe if you do a search I think there was at least 1 other shaft that broke but it was one of the older designs.I understand where you are coming from being so close to them but I think they refer folks to their dealer to have protect their dealer network.Your not the first to be referred to the dealer.My thought is either try to get a dealer and Motortrike to agree to let you pay the dealer and pick it up at the factory.I have been able to do that in the past with auto parts and farm equipment parts.Or take your remains to a driveline shop and get it repaired or built.

I apologize for the hassle you seem to have going on. I don't show that I've gotten any phone messages from you (at least since our last communication). I replied to the last email communication we had on July 24th as well in case you don't see this.

To explain a bit further in case there was any misunderstanding or confusion - When you were inquiring about ordering a driveshaft assembly & needing one asap we were completely out of stock in our facility due to a rejected batch of parts from our vendor (they weren't to spec so we denied the shipment). I wasn't able to say for certain if any of our dealers had one on hand that you could get quickly to get your customer taken care of which is why we sent the dealer locator to check dealers near you. Because I never heard back I was under the impression you'd found one through one of our dealers & had gotten your customer taken care of.

Once again, I apologize for the headache, issues, & frustration caused due to a lack of available parts at the time & my not being made aware you'd called in (the latter will be addressed in house). As a follow up, if you attempt to call in & don't get a call back within 1/2 day I would suggest sending an email as well in case the message wasn't relayed (this is true for anyone who calls in FYI).
 
Where / what part of it "snapped"? Maybe a shop can repair it?

Once a number of years ago, I was helping my chapter host a fundraiser, fellow on a "not Lehman" GL1800 trike and I got to talking, he mentioned a weak driveshaft issue, that he's replaced it several times. Before the day was over, saw him roll back out of parking spot, crank handle bars to left … then while still rolling backwards, reved her up and dumped clutch, spinning the left rear as he made a longer - drawn out left out of parking lot …. great fun.
 
I finally spoke with Richard and have worked out the misunderstandings. Apparently the receptionist was either not giving the messages or they where lost in transfer. So be sure guys to call back constantly if you ever need to get a hold of anyone their. I appreciate all the welcome and tips and will definitely pass this forum to others including this customer of mine. Now what the hold up was apparently and this is something i have come across in the automotive area too is the import/export tariff's Trump did and it caused considerable supply issue's and well it was not Motor Trike Inc or Richard who didn't have the raw materials to make them to supply us along with their production. He is send me all what i need this week and we are extremely happy this was addressed by MotorTrike Inc ( Richard) :clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping::AllGood:

So, would you recommend Motor Trike to others? I ask because i’m Looking at the Razor as a possible purchase. Thanks so much, would love to hear your thoughts.

I can't speak for the other gentleman, but I have had a MT Razor since they came out and have 46K miles on it. No problems encountered.
